The Anti-WikiLeaks hackers may be CIA agents, a wholly owned CIA subsidiary or just funded by the CIA. But they certainly advance the cause of US Imperrialism.

They have now set their sights on RT.com and brought it down foe three hours this morning.

RT,com is a vital source of information for activists on many issues from Syria to Iran to the struggles of Julian Assange. Assange presents an interviw show on the RT television station.

The RT.com website went down for more than three hours on Friday morning in a worldwide outage after a massive DDoS attack, and is still experiencing some tech difficulties. The hacker group calling itself AntiLeaks claimed responsibility for the attack.

“Yes. We are behind the DDoS attack on #RT_com,” AntiLeaks wrote on Twitter.

Earlier, AntiLeaks claimed responsibility for targeting WikiLeaks. They called Julian Assange “a new breed of terrorist” and said they launch the attack in response to his attempt to seek asylum in Ecuador.
The attack coincided with WikiLeaks’ release of a new portion of emails allegedly acquired by the hacktivist group Anonymous from the server of consulting firm Stratfor. The batch concerns the supposed existence of a US-based system called TrapWire, which allegedly collects images from surveillance cameras across America and uses them to track people for possible threats.

While RT.com is a Russian Public Broadcasting Service, it is far from being a propaganda arm of the state. It regularly carries articles critical of government policy and accurately reports events happening in the Russian Federation.

Today RT.com carries the following articles:

Moscow court upholds 100-year ban on gay pride events
The Moscow City Court has confirmed for the second time its ruling banning all LGBT pride events in the Russian capital for the next century.

‘Zombie Parade’ banned in Siberia
Authorities in the Siberian city of Omsk ban have reversed their decision and decided to ban a ‘Zombie Parade’ after criticism from the Orthodox Church and other public organizations

Russia needs Human Rights Ombudsmen in every region – Putin

Pussy Riot Ruling: can verdict on controversial case be fair?

Hardly the work of state spindoctors.

It looks as if RT.com is down again.
