RNU: Standing Outside the 'Peace Process'

RNU Position Paper

Published below is the RNU Position paper Standing Outside the 'Peace Process'

This document is being released as a precursor to a much more substantial and substantive set of policy documents that will be collectively entitled “Revolutionary Republicanism “which will be released in the New Year.

Standing outside the peace process is a basic outline of where we are at presently and how we as republican socialists have arrived at this position. The main aim of this policy document is to lay the groundwork for the release of “Revolutionary Republicanism” and to provoke and encourage debate and critical engagement on a wide range of issues which “Revolutionary Republicanism” intends to address. These issues range from our position on the armed struggle to socialist economic frameworks for the new Ireland.

The Republican Network for Unity is aware that other republican separatist organizations have released policy documents and position papers with similar themes which have largely been ignored both by those in mainstream politics and unfortunately by those in the Anti Good Friday Agreement camp also. RNU would urge all republicans and socialists to both engage with our policy documents and to bring their own visions of the revolutionary alternative that Irish society requires now more than ever.
