European Social Forum Feedback Meeting -
Discussion on What to Do during Irish EU Presidency / Referendum on EU Constitution

The Irish Social Forum (Dublin) is facilitating a European Social Forum feedback meeting Sat Nov 22 at 1pm in the Teachers’ Club, 36 Parnell Square, Dublin 1.

The ESF is taking place this week in Paris - one press report (British Guardian) estimated the attendance as over 60,000.

The ISF (Dublin) organised the successful and well attended "Co-operation and Solidarity Summit" which took place in UCD on October 17 to 19 last. (See www.irishsocialforum.net - and many other discussions on this Irish Indymedia site).

This ESF report-back is a natural follow-on from this work. We will continue working with the same methods - open, accountable, and working with a broad range of groups and individuals. We will seek to extend the range of this work to include active co-operation with like-minded activists from other EU states who participate in the ESF.

The Irish EU presidency (January - June 2004) and a possible referendum on the New EU Constitution in June 2004 will be discussed.

Speakers will include Jean Somers, Richard Boyd-Barrett and other Irish participants at the ESF.

Ideas around May 1 and 9 - dates when major EU governmental meetings are scheduled to take place in Ireland - and the Irish Presidency, will be raised at this meeting.
