Meeting in The Strand, Omeath.

The routine February meeting of Cooley Environmental and Health Group will be many faceted and will probably set a busy and full agenda for this small but innovative group for the rest of 2004 and beyond.

A many-faceted meeting of Cooley Environmental and Health Group (CEHG) will take place in The Strand, Omeath, on Sunday 29 February 2004 commencing at 11.30 a.m. sharp.

Sean Crudden will give a report on the latest LEADER + county board meeting.

Maureen Kettle of LOCUS, Belfast, will be present to outline a forthcoming cross-border training program in which CEHG are likely to participate.

The financial aspects of the recent successful Winter Workshop organised by CEHG - “Fabrication, Machinery, Dundalk and the Environment” - will be finalised.

A preliminary discussion will take place about the report “Cancer Mortality and Morbidity in Co Louth” (which was presented to CEHG last December by Dr Dennis G Pringle of the Department of Geography in NUI Maynooth).

Plans for a round-table conference on cancer research will be finalised. The “round-table” is scheduled to take place in The Strand, Omeath, on Sunday 18 April starting at 3.00 p.m.

Anyone interested in any of the topics listed or anyone who is interested in community development in general is welcome to attend. More help is always needed.
