Court report on Mayday arrestee

category dublin | summit mobilisations | news report author Wednesday May 19, 2004 15:27author by Dermo

Once again, this morning I found myself in another courthouse. It's the nature of our politics, that we are constantly on collision course with the authorities in whatever land we find ourselves. Polly Murphy was in court today in the bridewell for Trespass, section 13 of the all-encompassing, and all captivating laws under Public Orde

Joe was in cloverhill today and due to complications about his legal aid he didn't get a trial date. He's back in court (in court 46 in the Bridewell) on June 16 to get a date and get the legal aid sorted out.

Polly was in the Bridewell and was given a court date for November 10.

Implications: basically the two heads will be here for the next six months at least and without going to the high court (with some excuse / reason) thery're not going to be able to leave. This leaves us with the rather considerable responsibility of looking after them and this means finding them a place to live (crash space on a floor just isn't good enough for six months).

The "law" in this country is getting more preverted by the day under this FF/PD Junta.

Am wearily expecting the likes of "John" or "Rightarse Pragmatist" to come out with their "Well she should have thought of that before she..." shite.

Yeh,
us folks in Cardiff were talking about it the other night, and wondering what they were going to do for money and that. we could probably sort out a small solidarity fund if that would be appreciated.

Anyways get in touch if you think its a good idea.

you can also get in touch by posting a message on Cardiffsocialforum bullettin boards. as I'll probably check that again before this site.

All the best,

Owain...
