On Saturday the 3rd of March, IPSC Activists and members of the Palestinian community joined together to picket the Atlantic Homecare store in Sandyford as part of our continued campaign to pressure Atlantic Homecare to remove Israeli "Keter" products from their stores.
The third week of Atlantic Homecare pickets progressed well today with a good turnout of activists from the Dublin IPSC branch and the Palestinian community. We handed out leaflets urging customers to boycott the Israeli goods in Atlantic Homecare such as "Keter" garden and kitchenware products. The majority of customers were very supportive of our campaign and several turned their cars away rather than break our picket line. Many customers decided to enter the store to complain directly to the management about the presence of Israeli goods in Atlantic Homecare and asked them to heed the international call for a boycott of Israel until it respects international law and basic human rights for the Palestinian people.
The police presence at today's event was noticably less than in previous weeks and we maintained our picket for over two hours in the cold spring weather and windy environment of Sandyford industrial estate. Spirits were high as we ended today's picket and the IPSC Dublin branch intends to return to the Sandyford Atlantic Homecare store in two weeks time to continue our boycott campaign.
