Derry prisoner activist arrested as Sinn Fein and PSNI disrupt IRPWA

category derry | crime and justice | news report author Saturday March 31, 2007 19:44author by Barry - 32 County Sovereignty Movement

Sinn Fein and PSNI combine forces this morning to force IRPWA off streets

A Derry prisoners activist campaigning and collecting on behalf of Political prisoners and their dependants has been arrested and a number of Prisoners Welfare collection boxes seized after the joint targetting and disruption of the weekly Derry collection on behalf of Republican prisoners and their dependants by the PSNI acting in concert with the Provisional Sinn Fein party structure in the city this morning . IRPWA activists carrying out the regular Saturday collection that has been going on for over 6 years outside the Credit Union were first surrounded by Sinn Fein members intent on disrupting their collection, followed shortly afterwards by the arrival of the PSNI , who arrested one activist and seized the collection boxes for the second week running as joint Sinn Fein and PSNI co-operation emerges on the streets of republican districts post election .

This is the latest upsurge in a series incidents of British activity directed against Irish political activists opposed to the violation of Irish national sovereignty by the British government that have increased since the Provisionals signalled their open intent to support the British occupation forces at their ard feis earlier this year . However the blatant and cynical nature of the assistance rendered to the PSNI by Provisional Sinn Fein activists in Derry this morning in their efforts to disrupt the IRPWA's fundraising has signalled a new era of open collaboration on the streets against political activists that is deeply sinister and can only serve to raise tensions within working class republican districts whilst exacerbating the hardship endured by the wives , partners and children of Irish republican activists imprisoned within British and Free State jails . The Provisional leadership has signalled clearly its intent to act as and encourage others to become informers for the British authorities against Republican separatists , however this mornings shameful events indicate they are determined to make life as hard as possible for prisoners dependants also by co-operating with the British authorities on the streets to prevent vital money being collected for their welfare . Both the Provisionals and the British have long identified the prisoners issue as "the soft underbelly" of those opposed to British rule in Ireland and have both targetted this facet of republican activity in repeated attempts to create despair and hardship amongst those opposed to the political status quo on the island . Todays shameful events illustrate how the Sinn Fein party and the British forces acting in concert are seeking to exploit this vulnerability to the hilt in an effort to dismantle all remaining separatist resistance to British rule in Ireland .
The Irish Republican Prisoners Welfare Association is a registered charitable organisation set up in 1999 to assist in the alleviation of hardship endured by Republican Prisoners and their dependants as result of a republican activists inevitable incarceration . Quite often it is only able to alleviate the expenses occured by a prsioners family as they travel to visit their loved one , usually the family breadwinner , to whatever place of incarceration the activist finds him or herself , whether England , Maghaberry or Portlaoise as well as providing political, logistical and emotional support to those affected . From time to time a real financial crisis affecting a prsoner that must be addressed by the IRPWA occurs that can result in some serious expense . Derry IRPWA activists have been to the fore in fundraising within the community from the groups inception and it is their activity which has been targetted today in a clear attempt to create as much hardship and despair as possible amongst the separatist constituency and particularly amongst its most vulnerable members . Prisoners and their families .

From its inception as a prisoners welfare organisation the activities of the IRPWA have encountered major and deep rooted hostility from the Provisional Sinn Fein leadership . IRPWA activists have been threatened , abducted , interrogated and beaten by the Sinn Fein party militia . Owners staff and even patrons of commercial premises such as pubs , clubs and corner shops have been threatened by Sinn Fein members for hosting collection boxes . Owners of a number of premises have been threatened by leading Sinn Fein members to disrupt fundraising social functions for republican prisoners , often leading to the events cancellation . A number of years back in West Belfast a pub owner who defied threats from a number of leading Sinn Fein members and hosted an IRPWA function had his premises burnt to the ground 2 weeks later . Within a month the man whod organised the function , Joseph O'Connor from Ballymurphy was shot dead by the Provisionals . Another public house full of patrons in Dundalk which hosted Prisoners welfare functions came under petrol bomb attack on a saturday evening during a Sinn Fein function in a nearby part of town . A Sinn Fein member was arrested running from the scene although thankfully the pubs patrons who come from all strands of political opinion and none including Sinn Feins itself escaped injury . With traditional sources of fundraising and campaigning for Irish political prisoners being thoroughly and systematically shut sown and discouraged in a clinical and holistic manner accross the board funds available to prisoners dependents have been successfully reduced to a trickle . This violence and intimidation had went on largely unreported , ignored by and sometimes even encouraged by the media and various constituional nationalist politicians . Including PSNI board member Denis Bradley and others who openly encouraged the provisionals to break up the "dissident" malcontents in their own unique way . Whilst these squalid intimidatory attacks designed to prevent the collection of funds to combat the hardship faced by republican prisoners and their dependents may appear to be little more than petty but often brutal emnity from a rival political faction its important that they ,along with todays shameful events in Derry, be viewed in their proper political context .
From the outset of their talks and consultations with the British and US authorities on how best to combat republican opponents of British rule the Adams and McGuinness leadership , particularly Martin McGuinness , advised the governemnts that the prisoners issue was " the soft underbelly" of their opponents within republican districts . This advice was definitely heeded , with the British government withdrawing political status for republican prisoners and subjecting prisoners and their families to an ongoing and vindictive campaign of harrassment , brutality and degradation inside their jails and to vsisting families . In the south of Ireland political activists meeting to oganise prisoners functions have found themselves arrested under Draconian legislation and charged with IRA membership simply for meeting in a public bar to discuss hosting a social function . In the US , a traditional source of funds for prisoners dependants , the IRPWA was designated a "foreign terrorist organisation" , similar to Al Qaeda . It became a federal offence to either donate money to or organise on behalf of the IRPWA despite it being a perfectly legal organisation within the UK and Ireland . When contacted by journalists asking for a comment on the IRPWAs banning in the US gerry Adams contemptuously dismissed the development on the grounds that highlighting it in any manner "makes these people more important than they really are" . It seems these people were important enough for Martin McGuinness to advise the US authorities to place prisoners kids and wives on a par with Bin laden though .
During the dirty protest for political status embarked upon a few years back by members of the "Real" IRA, the armed group whose prisoners the IRPWA mostly , but not exclusively , collect funds for it also become quite apparent what attitude the Adams McGuinness leadership took towards its own members who instinctively supported the plight of republican prisoners resisting criminalisation inn British jails . Stormont MLA John Kelly was thrown out of the party (retired on health grounds) just days after announcing his support for political status in Maghaberry . South Down councillor Martin Cunningham suffered a similar fate after supporting calls for political status in Maghaberry ..

The strategy of the Sinn Fein leadership , the British and US governments and the Maghaberry Prison governors is not simply petty and vindictive for the sake of it, although its often mistaken by republicans as such . The strategy is very old and very simple simple . Those who defend and support the status quo in Ireland intend to break the resolve of those republicans who oppose the status quo by identfying and going after what they regard as their soft underbelly , the prisoners and their families . By ratchetting up their financial hardship and political isolation the intent is to create as much despair and hopelessness as they can in order to see their dignity , morale and cohesivness crumble . To kill hope and with that to kill all rewistance to the status quo.

So it was with against the backdrop of this political agenda , of political isolation and financial hardship directed against the most vulnerable and voiceless that the collusion between the PSNI and Sinn Fein in Derry took place this morning . The IRPWA collection outside the Credit Union takes place every Saturday morning without fail and has done for the past 6 years . Regardless of the elements a couple of prisoners activists , themselves former political prisoners turn out with their collection tins determined not to let the prisoners and their dependents down . They in turn are well known and supported by their local community who have never let republican prisoners down and who respect the commitment and time served in British jails by those out collecting on their behalf . With many traditional avenues of raising funds for prisoners families successfully closed down this successful Derry collection is viewed as a major irritant by the provos in the city and last year saw their unsuccessful first attempts to disrupt it . For it to be successfully forced off the streets would be viewed by Provos and British alike as a major nail in the dissident coffin due the severe financial hardship to prisoners and their families they would anticipate after closing this avenue of support down . However due to disgust expressed at this cynical move within the local community Sinn Fein were forced to back off and leave it alone . Last Saturday , in a cynical post election and post ard feis move , for the first time ever the PSNI in Derry successfully disrupted the collection , seizing the collection tins . Prior to the PSF ard feis they had consistently backed off and allowed the Sinn Fein militia to disrupt fundraising for political prisoners by turning a blind eye to their violence and intimidation directed against prisoners activists and collections . This allowed the PSNI to not be seen engaging in the petty disruption of a prisoners collection while letting the provos quietly get on with the job instead . However since the election and that option no longer being available to them the PSNI have now decided they will bring it to an end , this time with overt rather than covert Sinn Fein assistance .

Determined not to be driven off the streets of their hometown by the British police the prisoners activists returned to their traditional spot this morning . However within a short time they were physically surrounded by a large contingent of Sinn Fein members . The activists were informed that Sinn Fein were collecting funds for their party , the richest in Ireland who receive almost £2 million per year in subsidy from the British governemnt and with full access to fundraising amongst corporate America , on the very spot Derry former prisoners have been using every Saturday morning for the past 6 years with not a sign of a Sinn Fein collection anywhere. . As the large group of Sinn Fein members stood rattling their little tins and cynically disrupting the prisoners welfasre collection by surrounding the IRPWA activists the PSNI arrived and surveyed the scene . After it became apparent the IRPWA members werent for moving despite the cynical attempts by Sinn Fein to close them down on the street the PSNI decided to move again for the second week running . Ignoring he large group of Sinn Fein members the PSNI seized the collection boxes yet again and this time arrested an IRPWA activist . For the second week in a row the IRPWAs activities in Derry have been severely disrupted by the armed forces of the British status quo in Ireland . The open cynical assistance provided to them this morning by the Sinn Fein party structure in the city ranks amongst the most cynical ever witnessed on Derrys streets . It was a shameful and despicable act carried out by moral and politcal degenerates .
Far from their promises to the nationalist electorate that a vote for Sinn Fein would put manners on the PSNI todays events in Derry illustrate that the electoral madate sought by Sinn Fein will now be used by them and the British to put manners on anyone they regard as an opponent of British rule in Ireland , in full co-operation with the PSNI . Whilst the Sinn Fein party hacks who allowed themselves to be used alongside the PSNI in this desicable manner this morning , targetting and disrupting a collection for political prisoners dependants ,can largely be dismissed as cretinous imbeciles with no regard or concept as to the political magnitude of the act they participated in or the scorn and derision that will be heaped upon them as a result , the political mind which conceived of this act of collusion in Derry can only be described as that of a moral and political degenerate . Its safe to assume the brains behind this courageous act of collaboration with the PSNI had more sense than to be seen by the Derry public participating in such despicable and contemptible activity and left the dirty work to buffoons who are thrilled at the recognition their leadership gives them when sending them out on a mission only the lowest of the low would contemplate .

The late Sean MacDermott gave an analysis in the run up to the Easter Rising that the political leadership of nationalist Ireland was " the most degenerate leadership the Irish nation had ever produced" . Its safe to say that won't be a quote used by Martin McGuinness or by anyone else at the provisionals Easter commemoration in Derry next week . Although it may be an equally safe bet a shower of lowlifes congratulate and backslap each other in the pub afterwards at their successful collaboration with the PSNI this morning . If theyre really lucky Martin might even buy them a round . Unlike the wives and kids of republican prisoners who were targetted this morning he can well afford it

Sinn Féin is worse than DUP!

I've seen they have a book called: "Sinn Féin: a century of struggle" It must be called: "Shame Féin: a century of struggle and ten years of sales"

SF sellouts!

Brits Out now!

The 32 County Sovereignty Movement (often abbreviated to 32CSM or 32csm) is an Irish republican political organisation associated with the Real Irish Republican Army (or Real IRA), and are commonly referred to as 'dissident republicans'.

The Real IRA were the perpatrators of the Omagh bombing and the 32 County Sovereignty Movement has been subject to protests by the families of those who died in that atrocity.

Twenty-nine people were killed as a result of the Omagh bombing, including one woman who was pregnant with twins. Approximately 220 people were injured, many horrifically and permanently. The victims included people of both Catholic and Protestant denominations, and also included Spanish tourists and others on a day trip from County Donegal in the Republic of Ireland.

Peace.

Why ever would you be afraid to give your name Afraid to Say? After all, its not as if you have anything to fear. Whats the worst that could happen? The people you're slandering so viciously would simply call around your house for a nice cup of tea and a wee chat to try and make you see things from their point of view. Oh hang on. What am I thinking. What I meant to say was call around your house, drag you into an alley and beat the bejesus out of you.
Ironic that the people who accuse Sinn Fein of being sellouts are still happy to screw up the lives of their own people by threatening them, beating them up, robbing them, selling drugs to them, destroying their workplaces, and of course blowing them up. Still I suppose its for their own good. After all who needs peace, reconciliation, jobs, prosperity and a future and a chance to finally leave the past behind and move on.

If Republicans hadn't spent the past 30 years dutifully destroying the North's economy, thereby making it fiscally impossible for the South to even contemplate reunification, we'd probably have had the precious 32-county Ireland that everyone's so misty-eyed over.

So here we sit, at the very least decades away from a united Ireland, sniping and complaining with each other, while the multinationals carve up Ireland amongst themselves.

Catch yerselves on...

I think that this incident more than anything illustrates the extent of the British infiltration of Provisional $inn Fein. We have reached the stage where the $hinners are openly collaborating with the occupying security forces of Britian to smash all remaining opposition to continued British rule.
They have a nerve to wear the Easter Lily while they aid and abet the enemies of those who died in the struggle to remove the British from our land.
This Sunday and Monday they will speak about the Glorious sacrafice of our fallen comrades, then after the Easter break they will eagerly administer British rule from Stormont with all the enthusiasm of a child eager to please.

During Easter commemorations this weekend, Provo supporters will be clapping like demented seals every time what can only be termed as British agents utter a sentence with the word ' Historic ' in it, while in graves around them lie the remains of those who selflessly gave their lives in pursuit of the removal of everything these speakers now uphold and defend.

The hard fact is that while those Volunteers were sent out to kill and die by in many cases those same speakers their images have been used to generate cash to fund the party copper fastening British Rule in Ireland.

The most profitable of these dead Volunteers has been Bobby Sands who has been used in everything from T-shirts to his writings to fill the coffers of SF already overflowing by handouts from the British Government and American multinationals.

Maybe the family of Bobby should seriously consider taking legal to retrieve the copyright of his writings and his image from these pirates?

So presumably if the IRA had remained on active service then eventually the British would have just up sticks and left and all of a sudden there would be reunification! Woohoo! It was so simple. How come the Shinners didn't see that.
If only they had remained out of government, given the unionists the run of the mill, left NI in the hands of London, denied the Nationalist community the chance of fair policing, lft justice in the hands of the paramiliatries then everything would eventually have been alright would it?
Why don't you wise the fuck up! You can't bomb the Brits out of Ireland. It was tried. It failed. What has happened since it stopped? How many peoples lives have improved? Do we still have daily tit-for-tat murders, bomb scares, people being blown to bits, people living in fear? Thank fuck we don't. You obviously never experienced it yourselves cos if you did you wouldn't be hankering for the good old days when everything was just fine and dandy. Didn't really effect you baysss in the likes or Cork and West Meath, did it? Nope. Your families were safe and sound. Fuck the people of the North, just as long as you can stick your chests out and tell everyone you're a Republican. Well if you could pull yourself out of chuckie mode for five minutes and maybe had a look at the big picture it might enter your craniums that maybe, JUST maybe Sinn Fein are working towards reunification in the only way it can really be brought about...democratically. We sure as hell won't have it if we continue to bomb, maim and kill, will it?

This was on the table years ago only it was called Sunningdale, why reject it then and accept it now?

The answer is that during the preceding years the British infiltrated the Provos to such an extent that they were able control the future direction of the leadership. That direction led to Stormont and the acceptance of a British statelet called Northern Ireland.

No body is dying today for a United Ireland but why have so many died for what will be a failed entity with the DUP humiliating SF at every opportunity?

Nice times indeed. For members of Provisional Sinn Feign that is. Plenty of money holiday homes etc. The fact is that we fought to remove a tyranny, however those who were supposed to lead us to freedom have become as equally as tyrannical and corrupt once they achieved a position of power and as is the case in Derry they won't hesitate to use the forces of their former enemies to remove any threat to their political opportunism.

When was the last time any of us saw a group of Shinners surround a drugdealer or hoodlum joyrider? They wouldn't dirty their suits.

As opposed to ranting about the British infiltrating the upper echelons of the Republican movement and brain-washing them to turn them into Blairs little puppets? What bullshit will you claim next week I wonder? Little green men have infiltrated Sinn Fein and there's one in Gerry Adam's head? You've been watching the X-Files too much pal. Don't like what the Shinners are doing? Try and convince the people who voted for them. After all. There's a lot more of them than you. I guess I'm not the only stupid fucker that's tired of all the bloodshed. Roll on united Ireland. A peaceful and democratic one. Maybe not in my life time. But eventualy. But there again I let silly little things like peace, life and prosperity get in the way of my patriotism. I guess I'd rather be accused of selling out Republicanism as opposed to selling out my humanity.

The 'dissidents' received their answer in the last election. Their vote was derisory. And no wonder when they are backing stone age clowns like mcgeough, a fascist. Supporters of McGeough will continue to end up in that well-known historical dustbin. a fate they richly deserve.

Mc Geough might be a fascist, I won't argue with that, but come on, when it comes to Fascists you can't beat the Sinn Fein leadership especially Adams. The ordinary people of N.ireland will know all about it when they get Stormont up and running, or should that be up and running down services in the interests of privatisation.

Adams and McGuinness don't hesitate to rub shoulders with the likes of the mass murder Bush much in the same way as Mussolini aligned himself with Hitler.

We'll see fascism in action once the Puppet Government of N.Ireland gets going. The people have only themselves to blame.

"They have peace but that's all they'll get."
Its a damn site more than we had 10 years ago. Or how about 20 when a Catholic could be shot for just walking down the street? Or 30 when the pre-requisite for getting a job or a house was "must be a Protestant".
We've moved a long way since then. Now we have a chance to keep going.
The Shinners and the Dupers aren't even in a proper government yet. Most people would at least give em a chance before ranting on about their failures. As for fascist Republicans, isn't that a bit of a contradiction?
Oh and as for "peace but thats all". I lost 3 members of my family to the troubles in 1976, 1980 and 1981. Now I have kids of my own do you think I want that shite for them as well? Yeah I want them to grow up in a United Ireland, but I'd rather they grew up in a safe British statelet which eventually was absorbed back into the Republic as opposed to a war zone where ideals and pride were more important than human life.

You really are a right charlie if you believe that crap.
We could've had all that peace 10, 20 30 years ago [ Sunningdale ] but the Provo leadership stood in the way and as a result fecking people died including Republicans because of their insistence that they [ I was a member then ] wouldn't settle for less than a 32 county socialist Republic. Why the change of tune now? Because Paisley has with the Brits forced Sinn Fein to accept that they're fecking hammered and the only way forward is back to Stormont rule where they could help protect the union or sit out in the cold. They accepted defeat and humiliation and that is why the fecking loyalists don't kill us.
As for the idiotic belief that we'll move from a puppet government to a united Ireland, that's a fairy story created by Adams to hide the shame of forced cooperation.

"You really are a right charlie if you believe that crap."
What. That we can have peace and prosperity? That in a few generations when the influence of the evil empire has eroded we will be closer to reunification than we ever could be through conflict and not participating in self rule? That I want my kids to grow up safe and happy? Might be crap to you pal. Ask the majority of the population if its crap to them.

" Why the change of tune now? Because Paisley has with the Brits forced Sinn Fein to accept that they're fecking hammered and the only way forward is back to Stormont rule"
Jesus christ but you are narrow minded. Think out of the box man. Where was the conflict taking us? No where. Troops on the streets. Daily violence. Economy fucked up. Politicians not even sitting in the same room. Adams et al had the brains to evolve and play a different game. To play the players at their own game. They wised up. They matured politically. Answer me this then. If the Shinners hadn't backed Dr No and his Dupers into a corner and forcing them to accept powersharing then where would we be now?

Paisley and the Brits forced Sinn Fein my arse! The Dupers are running scared now and their second greatest fear has come to light - sharing power with ex provos.
Do you think they want to be there? Do you think that if given a choice or a way out they wouldn't take it? Of course they would, especially Dr No.

" They accepted defeat and humiliation and that is why the fecking loyalists don't kill us."
Oh fuck off. Do you really believe this shite? Accepting defeat would mean slinking away and hiding in the shadows. Accepting defeat would mean we ramain at the mercy of the loyalist terror gangs. Where are they now? Pushing drugs and organised crime in their own communities, thats where. Resigned to the fact that Republicanism now has a say in the governing of NI and there's fuck all they can do about it.

"As for the idiotic belief that we'll move from a puppet government to a united Ireland, that's a fairy story created by Adams to hide the shame of forced cooperation. "
An idiotic belief that a great many people on this island share. My slant on reunification is this. Sinn Fein work for the next, say, 60/70 years, and help NI become stable and self sufficient. The current bigotries die down and a new breed of politician comes to the forum, more open minded and more receptive to different cultural and political beliefs as they are no longer tainted and prejudiced by violence and fear. Londons grip loosens as the fanatical Unionists die off. Hard liners who would rather fight and die than consider themselves Irish are greatly reduced. All the oul tribal shite which exists now eases as the conflict is no longer there to temper it. People become more comfortable with the view of reunification. Follow along that track for another 40 years. The reunification question is put to a vote to everyone on the island. The majority vote for it. Would it happen? Maybe. Maybe not. At least its one POSSIBLE way forward. To some of us, it seems the only real way. Might not be happy having foreigners with their foot in the door, but am happy to wait and watch that foot gradually inch its way out. Better that than me trying and slam the door only to have it kicked in and then to receive a boot the bollocks.

So you think my optimism is idiotic. Fair enough. Offer me your alternative. If you think my way won't work how do you see us progressing? Where do you see NI going? If you had been the leader of the Shinners what would you have done? Not trying to be a smart ass (this time). Am genuinely interested to see how you think you could make things better.

Were we waiting until Sinn Fein overtook the SDLP as the main Nationalist party?

You'll have to ask that question to everyone who has ever voted for Sinn Fein. After all, they penultimately called the shots.
How the fuck can you answer that question in a few paragraphs. You would spend years writing volumes. However here's some buzz words and phrases for ya which shows some of what contributed. Pig ignorance, distrust, hatred, bigotry, united Ireland, staying British, politicians, government collusion, greed, power, drugs, personal profit, tribal politics, religion. Tip of the ice-berg.
Why was Adams personally not ready? Dunno. Ask him. As for the Shinners as a whole. Probably because it took them this long to back the Dupers into a corner, let wounds heal, build up enough suport to democratically do it.

Me Rambling. If you say so. I call it making my point , as you do not seem to be able to grasp one semblance of what I'm saying. How bout you answer MY questions.

You'll have to ask the people who voted Sinn Fein. What a cop out. Why didn't Sinn Fein heed the mandate of those who voted for the SDLP while Sinn Fein had no mandate to wage war.

Backed Paisley into a corner. What corner, the one where he made demands and Sinn Fein Delivered the one where he will lead a Puppet Government with SF under him.
What is the alternative? to What? A Puppet Government with no opposition. What type of Government is that but a Dictatorship set up by a Imperialist power to protect it's and the Multinationals interests in that country.

There is no alternative while the people continue to allow themselves to be duped by politicians driven by self interest.

Probably because the electorte had to mature along with their party? Maybe sheep-shepherd mentality.

"Backed Paisley into a corner. What corner,"
The one where he was forced to share power with the Shinners. I suggest you listen to the interview he did last night where he is very frank about his feelings about sharing power with Republicans. Why the fuck are Dupers resigning from their wonderful party? Because they can't stand the thought of sharing power with Adams et all.

And you accuse me of copping out. What the fuck was that? You moan and whinge and go through all this imperalist power ranting and raving. Well since you side stepped my earlier questions and copped out of answering the main one (maybe you didn't understand so I'll TRY to elaborate). If you do not agree with the way things stand now then what do you think we need to do to reach a resolution where the majority of people will be happy, which doesn't lead to conflict and which puts our country on the road to a peaceful and prosperous future. Try offering an alternative instead of just bitching, spouting all this oul imperalist, multinational bullshit and running off again. Bet you can't!

So 30 odd years of war was all about giving the Good Shepard Adams time to herd all the sheep into his pen according to Charlie Wakey? The only sheep I know of are those in Sinn Fein who jump every time Adams cracks the party whip.

The fact is we are now living in a fucking Banana Republic where to quote Paisley, "McGuinness can't do nothing without my say so"

The alternative is a proper Government answerable to the people with an opposition to pressurise the sitting Government when it steps out of line. If Adams had the balls he should have held out until proper institutions were set in place, he had the mandate and no one was dying so why the need to jump into a Puppet Government where the majority party has the veto every time?

If you are content to live under such a system then that's up to you, but mark my words there will be no prosperity in a Banana Republic. There's no arguing with someone who lets others do their thinking for them and keeps churning out the same crap.

We have peace, so do the people in Ghettos in Dublin, Limerick, Manchester and Glasgow or do they? The drug dealers are prospering there.
