The IPSC and Amnesty International will host a talk by Irish human rights activist Caoimhe Butterly in the John Holland Theatre, Room D1050 in the University of Limerick on Thursday evening at 8.00 pm. Caoimhe will talk about the plight of Palestinian refugees as they return to the bombed out ruins of their refugee camp, Nahr al Bared. Caoimhe has been working with villagers in the south of Lebanon since the last days of the Israeli bombardment and cluster bombing of the region in the summer of 2006. She will also be able to offer us some insight to the political machinations unfolding in Lebanon and the likely consequences for the region in the months and years ahead.
