Protesting against Shannon Airport's Complicity in War and Torture
The regular second-Sunday-of-the-month vigils continue at Shannon. Meet at 2pm at the small roundabout before the airport entrance (gantry) for one hour of peaceful protest.
The recent Peace Forum held at Shannon on 21st March heard how the Irish Government, first led by Bertie Ahern and then by Brian Cowen, has been complicit in crimes against humanity and crimes of torture by allowing over one million armed US troops and hundreds of CIA associated aircraft to be refuelled at Shannon Airport. This is in breach of Ireland's international obligations, and of Irish and international laws.
