A Global joining of hands for Clean Energy

A Hands Across the Sand event is taking place on Saturday the 26th of June in Salt Hill. Thousands of people are gathering on beaches all over the world to present a powerful image with a simple message:

NO to Offshore Oil Drilling, YES to Clean Energy.

Hands Across the Sand is a global event which is taking place in over 20 countries worldwide on Saturday, the 26th June.

The only Irish event is taking place in Salthill, Co. Galway.

Thousands of people are gathering on beaches all over the world to present a powerful image with a simple message:

NO to Offshore Oil Drilling, YES to Clean Energy.

So what exactly is going to happen?

People are to meet at the beach in front of the Galway Bay Hotel at 11.30 and at 12.00 everybody will join hands in a line across the beach for 15 minutes.

This is an opportunity for people who have felt helpless watching the news reports about the Gulf oil spill to do something. Yes it is small. But to achieve something great we must begin somewhere.

I would appreciate greatly if people could spread the word as much as possible.

Thanks :)
