SDLP Youth respond to the Bomb in Derry
SDLP Youth Officer Eamon McAuley has said that the youth wing of the party stand firm in solidarity with the young people of Derry in rejecting the campaign of terror embarked upon by those responsible for the bomb on the Culmore Road in Derry.
He said: "This is yet another attack on the hard working people of this city who have made great progress in transforming the image of this city.
“For many, Monday night's bomb bore a stark reminder of the atrocities witnessed in the past. It is important to remember that it starting to resonate with a generation who have never been exposed to such a terrifying incidents.
"It is this generation who are a target for these groups, who are intent in dragging young people into conflict once again. However the SDLP Youth are united with the young people of Derry in rejecting this destructive campaign.
"The young people of Derry are carving out a future that lies far from past and present terror. It is a future of improvement and inclusion not violence and seclusion."
