Paddy Smylie – Irish Communism, 1945-70
Paddy is a native of Newry and is full-time researcher in Queens University Belfast where he is completing Doctoral research on the history of the Irish Communist Party during the twentieth century. His talk will be based on this research.
The talk will take place in Gort na Móna CLG, Springfield Road, Belfast.

Jump To Comment: 1Maybe it's time we threw out the gombeen political parties, burned the banks and leech supermarkets, and created our own independent currency and became a little green cuba. I'm certain that chavez would help us out as he did with argentina if we rejected capitalism once and for all. Can't be a whole lot worse than where we are. There are no ipods but At least you get decent health care and free education and cheap public transport in cuba.
