Hosted by Socialist Youth and the Socialist Party, we will look at whether the policies of regulation, being pushed by people like Obama and in Ireland, Eamonn Gilmore are enough, or if Socialist policies are needed to solve the crisis. The Limerick branch of the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign held a protest against the Israeli murder of humanitarian aid workers on Saturday 5th June in Arthur’s Quay Park. This was also be a vigil to remember the murdered aid workers and to show solidarity with the Flotilla, the people of Gaza and our friends aboard the MV Rachel Corrie which was hijacked just miles from Gaza. read full story / add a comment

On Sunday 27th December the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign erected a memorial tree in Limerick city centre to mark the first anniversary of Israel’s genocidal assault on Gaza last winter, The names of the 1415 people who were killed during the 22 day assault were printed on colour-coded cards for the public to attach to the tree - blue for men, pink for women and white cards for the over 300 children killed. A detailed list of the names, addresses, gender, ages, and occupation of those murdered was displayed on large laminated sheets for the public to study and see for themselves the fact that the overwhelming majority of the victims were innocent civilians. read full story / add a comment

The Limerick branch of the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) will tomorrow, Sunday 27th Dec - the first anniversary of Israel's brutal attack on Gaza - commemorate the over 1,420 Palestinian fatalities of that tragic assault.
