<P>This is the only conference in Ireland, this year, to celebrate the International Year of Soils.
</p><p>
Soil is our most treasured, valuable & precious resource - essential to all our lives. We grow our food in it & on it, build our homes from it & on it, drive our vehicles on it & with it, & yet, it is disappearing at an alarming rate, worldwide. Shine a light on just what we know, by hearing what just some of the Soil scientists are finding out, & what some of the specialists are learning from their own work. </P><P>Join us at <strong>Claregalway Castle</strong>, in <strong>county Galway</strong>, on Monday<u> 6th</u> July, at the Irish conference on soils, with keynote speakers, Dr Elizabeth Stockdale of Newcastle University, & Ian Tolhurst of Tolhurst Organics.
</p><p>
There are also planned, a number of panels speakers, many experienced in various strategies which are demonstrated to grow soil, in diverse Irish environments. Opportunities to question & debate, discuss & network, all in a beautiful & tranquil location in the West of Ireland - this is the only Irish event planned for this, the UN International Year of Soils.

<strong>About The Mayo Organic Group</strong> <br>
The Mayo Organic Group is a friendly group of organic gardeners, producers and farmers who meet on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 8pm in the Bishop O'Healy Community Centre, Mayo Abbey.

Our aim is to promote organic horticulture and farming techniques and principles by providing a lively programme of cutting edge talks throughout the year from Soft Cheese Making, Coppicing, Fruit Tree Grafting, Seed Saving, Forest Gardening, Bee Friendly Garden Plants, to Foraging.
</p><p>
Garden and farm walks are organised throughout the year, as well as foraging and herbal walks, so members can witness ideas in action!
</p><p>
Our meetings are also a forum for selling produce. Members are encouraged to bring any produce they have for sale to any of our monthly meetings and advertise on our webring. </P>
