<P>Dutch documentary 'Why We Cycle' is getting its Dublin premiere this Monday June 11, and Sligo premiere on Thursday June 14.<br />

“It is not a film about policy and strategy. Instead, it is more of a manifesto, showing people why they should want to aspire a cycling society,” said Marco te Brömmelstroet (aka Cycling Professor), a producer of the documentary, when interviewed by Carlton Reid of bikebiz.com.</P><P>Brömmelstroet said the film should help advocates to “know what to ask from your politicians and why you should start fighting for such a future.”<br />

Both are free screenings organisation by the Dublin Cycling Campaign and Sligo Cycling Campaign, respectively, as part of Bike Week. The film is 57mins long.<br />

The Dublin showing -- also supported by Dublin City Council -- is to take place in the council's Wood Quay Venue at 7pm on Monday evening. The Sligo screening is to be shown at The Building Block on Bridge Street in the town on Thursday June 14 at 6pm. While in Dungarvan, it will screen also on Thursday June 14 but with a starting time of 7.30pm at the SGC Cinema in Dungarvan. This funded by Waterford Council, hosted by Waterford Cycling Campaign. The film has previously been screened in Waterford, Cork and Tralee, Co Kerry by the Waterford, Cork and Kerry cycling campaigns, respectively, supported by Cyclist.ie, which secured the rights to a number of screenings in Ireland.</P>
