Climate Change will flood Limerick
limerick | environment | other press Wednesday July 11, 2007 18:38 by Limerick Socialist Youth - Socialist Youth socialistyouth at hotmail dot com Limerick 086-8064801
Come to RESISTANCE!
According to a recent report by the Environmental Protection Agency Limerick will be flooded within 50 years (if not sooner) due to rising sea levels resulting from climate change.
The 80% increase in CO2 in the atmosphere since the industrial revolution means that more and more sun rays are being ‘trapped’ and so temperatures are rising. This is the so-called ‘green house effect’ and it is resulting in more and more extreme weather e.g. hurricanes and floods. It is also melting the polar ice caps, causing sea levels to rise.
