When Dicey summarised the principle of parliamentary sovereignty he wrote: "Parliament can do everything but make a woman a man and a man a woman." Alas, thanks to the European Court of Human Rights, that's no longer true.

It's increasingly clear the virus leaked from a lab in Wuhan. But could it have been made in the USA? Will Jones suggests the behaviour of the Chinese Government before and after the sequence was published gives us a clue.

We Defy You! Do Your Worst!

category waterford | rights, freedoms and repression | news report author Monday August 27, 2007 20:31author by Republican Socialist Report this post to the editors

Follow the recent arrests and intimidation and harrasment of members of the Waterford IRSP by the 'secret police'. Yet another young member of the Kevin Lynch Cumann (Waterford) was arrested at 6.45am this morning.
"If you strike us, imprison, or kill us, out of our prisons or graves, we will evoke a spirit that will thwart you, and perhaps, raise a force that will destroy you! We defy you! Do your worst!" (James Connolly)
"If you strike us, imprison, or kill us, out of our prisons or graves, we will evoke a spirit that will thwart you, and perhaps, raise a force that will destroy you! We defy you! Do your worst!" (James Connolly)

This republican socialist activist is being held under Section 30 of the offences against the state act.

He is being questioned as to being a member of an illegal organisation.

He can be held for 72 hours after which he can be released or charged.

Once again we see the branch trying to break IRSP from organising. Such activities by the state remind us of the tactics use by them in the 70's. Such actions will only strengthen the republican socialists resolve as Connolly put it... "If you strike us, imprison, or kill us, out of our prisons or graves, we will evoke a spirit that will thwart you, and perhaps, raise a force that will destroy you! We defy you! Do your worst!" (James Connolly)

A call for solidarity: All genuine republicans, socialists, trade unionists, radicals, revolutionaries must take note of such developments and express support and solidarity with those republican socialists targeted in such a way.

De Valera ran an execution chamber in the Joy. Hanging and shooting.
Know your History.

The Free State is an American conception that Bertie Ahern has chosen to fetish through
military remembrance and not socialism. Political dissent of the Republican variety is
quashed.

Skeptic is a revisionist.
We live in a divided money ridden unequal society which has Irish Kids being impoverished
with deprivaton of health services and state schools by a low tax party who care little
for Ireland's culture but alone Profit.

Brendan Behan was many things but not a poet as such, as least not mainly. He was present in Montjoy as a prisoner when a man was hanged in the 1940s for killing his brother, apparently out of jealousy, but did not elude to any other hangings. Also the Security Forces of the Free State did not excommunicate anyone - that pregogitve was and is in the hands of the RC Church alone. The IRSP is not an illegal organization. If the guards are lifting IRSP people are you sure its not to do with suspected membership of another organization? Just wondering.

The ushering in of the Free State was based on the sacrifice of 1916, which Bertie Ahern
constantly alludes to and yet the Security forces of the State excommunicated and
tortured activists from the IRB and other Republican Socialist Movements. Brendan
Behan, a fine poet witnessed the hanging room in Mountjoy jail. it does make you
wonder about the Men who govern now and their relentless pursuit of 'political dissenters'.
Whilst Berite spends 16 million re-doing the graves in Glasnevin, making a shopping
arcade of the GPO and twisting the law of the land to suit his US agenda , he licks the
arse off The UK government and persists in creating an uninclusive and unfair
society.

Solidarity!
