Successful Shell To Sea Picket Kilmainham

category dublin | anti-capitalism | news report author Wednesday April 16, 2008 22:41author by Starstruck - Dublin Shell to Sea Report this post to the editors

Great level of support from passing motorists

Last Saturday a sizeable crowd turned out at Kilmainham Shell to highlight the ongoing scandal of the Corrib gas Project.
Look at those prices!!!
Look at those prices!!!

Despite the changeable and often horrendous weather ,a sizeable crowd braved the conditions to picket the Kilmainham Shell station which continues to sell Shell Oil and fund their bulging coffers, coffers soon to be vastly enriched should this project go ahead.

A surprising level of support was displayed by passing motorists and not even the local plod could discourage the gathered group

Many potential customers decided to give the station a miss that day and despite the fact that the station was not at any stage totally blockaded, the pumps lay empty for almost half the duration of the protest.

The resistance to the rip-off continues, keep an eye on the events calendar for the next Garage picket near you!

Well they arrived down three separate times - one foot patrol and twice in cars - usual old banter about what was a foot path and an entrance and a grass verge etc etc!
