Justin Trudeau wants to prorogue Parliament to buy time before the election. Voters will punish him for it, says Prof James Allan, but it's a mistake he must be allowed to make without activist judges getting in the way.

Lisbon Treaty information and Irish Referendum guide

category national | eu | press release author Thursday May 22, 2008 02:02author by 1916 - FiannaFail.info Report this post to the editors

Information by loyal Fianna Fáil supporters critical of the Lisbon Treaty

Fed up with the party line coming from Iveagh House instead of the Party itself? Try FiannaFail.info

This site is by and for loyal Fianna Fáil members, sympathisers, general members of the electorate - and critics - who believe that democratic debate is more important than cosy consensus - especially since, as the Republican Party, we are supposed to have a special duty to safeguard our Republic.

We don’t blame sincere - if misguided - party leadership, as much as their civil service advisors, some of whom - especially in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Iveagh House - now seem to owe more loyalty to their EU counterparts than to their own people.

We welcome your comment and debate.

Good Europeans say "No" to Lisbon
Don't believe the hype: not only will Ireland remain "at the heart of Europe", but we will be casting a vote in favour of the hundreds of millions of Europeans who don't have the chance to have their say against this undemocratic, uneuropean treaty - by voting "No".
A site not only for Fine Gael supporters skeptical of public pronouncements about the Lisbon Treaty, but also for those interested in an in-depth analysis of what the actual legal and constitutional implications of the Lisbon Treaty are. Also covers basic material on the future of the "Irish" Commissioner, Agriculture, Tax and Investment, Power and Democracy.

Arguments and comments welcome.
