Jump To Comment: 1 2You'll be disappointed to hear that the short story is probably less plausible than the film! Benjamin Button is born not only looking like an old man but fully grown and talking to anyone who'll listen. It's been a while since I've read it or seen the film but I don't think it had an effect on his mother's pregnancy. Apart from that it's set in a different time period and the characters and plot have been changed a bit. The tone of the short story is humourous though so it's probably meant to be a ridiculous while the film maybe takes itself too seriously.
