.......
..and no sign of Lizzy thanking us for blowing 20ml on her security by shaking a finger at her loyalists.
She might at least tell them its not fucking cricket.
And the brits are too busy imposing fair play and british justice on Lybia to see the civilians needing protection under their own flag.
Have Adams and McG dozed off altogether?
Hello, Mary Lou. Get on to Cameron&Co. Ditto Doherty. We do not need this shit to spread.
Feckin media coverage once again disgraceful around this in the 26 counties. There would be front page spreads if a 'disident' republican blew their nose. Just checkin me emails when put on computer and on yahoo news they only cover the shots that were fired in desperation and defence. Utter disgraceful.
At a time when class solidarity is needed more than ever in ireland the Brits always have their spooks and drug dealers in their loyalist militias to stoke up tensions.
Also have to ask where was the usual response from the RUC/PSNI, didnt notice any water cannons or heavy handed tactics.
Solidarity to the people of Short strand. Stay safe and calm but be vigilent
They have not dozed off at all.
The two of them are now fully-ordained, wide awake ordained priests of the UK/Republic of Ireland establishments.
Take care you never let on to anybody that I told you though!!
Who spreads the reports on whats happening up there on the airwaves, internet and print. The amount of times 'both sides of the divide' or 'there was clashes between rival factions or catholic and protestant residents' is used. When is this lazy and inaccurate journalism going to be challenged, how and why do they still use religion to describe political actors. I am still trying to get a picture of what happening up there. And 'clashes' assume that this was a pre planned 'battle', not a siege or at the extreme end if it had of went further been 'ethnic cleansing'. This was an orchastrated attack by criminals under the flag of Loyalism to throw their weight around and take out their grieviences on INNOCENT residents of an isolated area. UTV in particular must have a policy to give the same air time to the 'two' (religious) communities as in some of the reporting u wouldnt get a clear idea of what happened as they have the few loyalist homes that were effected in defensive actions the same clout as the hundreds of nationalist residents who were effected.
Down here already ya hear , oh they are 'both' at it again up there. The establishment hate / fear republicans so much that they would rather mis report or stay silent on these scandalous attacks then speak out and lay the pressure on. Why isnt Kenny up there with the Chief Constable calling on all this great cooperation between the police forces etc to hunt down the godfathers who planned and stirred this up.
If the violence is reactionary (loyalist or fascist) than of course you wont have the powers that be going to worry to much, and that goes for 26 County State and Brits.
"Also have to ask where was the usual response from the RUC/PSNI, didnt notice any water cannons or heavy handed tactics."
Right. So when the PSNI used the same tactics in the Ardoyne last year they were too heavy handed and caused the trouble in the first place. But now, again using exactly the same tactics they aren't doing enough and should be heavy handed against the evil loyalists causing the trouble.
Is funny how bigotry and ignorance can make people see the same shit in a different light.
... maybe I should have been a little clearer. I am totally against police repression and in away police in general. Two very different situations and again you are falling into the 'two sides' are as bad as each other argument that i am trying to move away from. Each area has its own dynamics and different levels of tension, harmony etc and I am not making a totalising point
Protesting or road blocking of a supremicist, exclusivist, sectarian provacative march going through your community as happened as u mentioned in Ardoyne and other places is very very very different, well in my eyes to whats happening up there. Some loyalists wouldnt even call what this east Belfast UVF were up to political or legitamate activity, its all about criminality, control and carving up the paramilitary pie and muscle flexing.
I was just making an observation that the so called reformed RUC/PSNI used kid gloves on these guys who were in the main hoods, not residents making a protest who they dragm, beat, etc usually, this is a fact. The little footage I did see looked like they expected the hoods to jump in to the back of their jeeps. I dont want police repression or state repression on any group,or sect but for two days there I saw the old sectarian statelet and its far from perfect (yet) police force. I in now way want to brand a whole section of community as 'evil' as u try to put words in my mouth, you obviously dont know the very particular circumstances of that area and its long troubled history, I just dont want to see loyalist militias stoking up sectarian tensions and then the police facing the other way like they have done since day one up there. I dont want to be alarmist but I am trying to imagine what it must be like to be besieged like that tiny neighbourhood is up there, this isnt about any -ism at all really.
