It isn't so much that the Tories are getting more popular as that Labour is getting less so. Which illustrates a more general predicament for the Tories and any other party that might have aspirations to government.

Im very glad to see that organizations like the CDC are springing up. they are a much needed counter-force to the Leinster House pseudo-gangs, who pose as Working Class organizations. The Working Class will take power on its own terms and in its own structures - or not at all.

It should be great craic on the night . Citizens Defence is the way to go .Anthony"the pride" Fitzgerald is a great boxer . Why does he do it ? Not for the money , but because he loves fighting he said in a recent interview. Great stuff ! Anthony from Dublin's inner city has donated a pair of his signed boxing gloves to Dublin CDC , which is very appropriate . The working class must get political , box clever and and fight hard to win back its pride . In my opinion, it is never going to be able to do that through Dail electioneering . Any semblance of democracy and independence the Dail ever had is gone , Ireland's financial affairs is now dictated by the ECB . Independent working class structures urgently need to be put in place .

The recent referendum showed the strength of working class opposition to the agenda about to be imposed on the working class by the EU . Eighty percent voted against in places like Ballymun and Finglas and Donegal .How should the eighty percent " for " vote in places like Dun Laoighre and the overall victory of the "yes" side be interpreted ?. In a period of crisis and class polarization , middle class voters will go with whichever side they consider to be the strongest . Presently working class leadership consists of "left" Dail representatives downplaying the scale of the crisis facing workers and their families alongside appeals by the trades unions' leaders that they be allowed retain their places at the table in the capitalist decision-making process .

Until strong, democratic working class organizations are built that are independent of capitalist structures and capable of asserting working class interests , the right wing will continue to dictate the agenda.
