Gaza Situation

category dublin | anti-war / imperialism | other press author Friday November 23, 2012 22:24author by Zionism=Nazism Report this post to the editors

The targeting of tunnels by Israeli airstrikes has restricted the flow of food and fuel into Gaza. ( http://www.unrwa.org/etemplate.php?id=1507)

Few shops remain open and the UN has warned of an impending water crisis. There are reports of bombing campaigns purposely targeting irrigation wells. The Ministry of Health in Gaza is out of 40 per cent of essential medicines and running low on basics like bandages and syringes. (http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/ove....html)

Gaza's dire situation began in 1948 when Zionist militia groups expelled over 700,000 Palestinians from their land, 200,000 of whom fled to Gaza and tripled its population.

Historically, Gaza had been known for the fresh water oasis of Wadi Gaza (http://www.nytimes.com/2007/04/06/opinion/06iht-edzeit.....html ) an important stop on trade routes between Egypt and Syria.

No longer an oasis, lands razed and levelled by Israeli bulldozers. Along Gaza's eastern border ( http://www.anera.org/newsResources/documents/AgReport.pdf) 29 per cent of arable lands are now closed. Israeli naval ships harass and water cannon Palestinian fishermen, restricting them to three nautical miles from shore.

Polluted sewage is leaking into the coastal aquifer from water networks and buildings bombed by Israeli airstrikes in 2008-09's operation "Cast Lead"(http://www.amnesty.org/en/news-and-updates/report/israe...91027)

Israel has also blocked the equipment needed to repair the damaged infrastructure. With tap water undrinkable, some people in Gaza are now surviving on 20 litres per person per day (http://www.amnesty.org/en/news-and-updates/report/israe...91027)

Water consumption for the average Israeli is about 300 litres per person per day. (http://www.amnesty.org/en/news-and-updates/report/israe...91027)

All of Gaza's 10,000 smallholder farms were damaged in the 2008-09 onslaught (http://www.fao.org/fileadmin/templates/tc/tce/pdf/FAO_b...9.pdf) half a million trees uprooted and more than one million chickens were killed along with sheep, cattle and goats. ( http://postconflict.unep.ch/publications/UNEP_Gaza_EA.pdf)

The Israelis destroyed 60 per cent of the agricultural industry in Gaza, causing $268m in losses.

The proportion of Gazans judged "food insecure" increased to 75 per cent and in the aftermath, many households have been found to be chronically food insecure (http://www.aljazeera.com/indepth/opinion/2012/11/201211....html)

As the recent murder of a 20-yr-old Palestinian Civilian clearly demonstrates, the Zio-Nazis regularly murder Palestinian civilians in Gaza without any retaliation whatsoever from the Palestinians

As stated earlier

A 2009 study by an MIT professor revealed, “[I]t is overwhelmingly Israel that kills first after a pause in the conflict.”

The study found, “79% of all conflict pauses were interrupted when Israel killed a Palestinian, while only 8% were interrupted by Palestinian attacks (the remaining 13% were interrupted by both sides on the same day).

In addition, the researchers stated, “…of the 25 periods of nonviolence lasting longer than a week, Israel unilaterally interrupted 24, or 96%, and it unilaterally interrupted 100% of the 14 periods of nonviolence lasting longer than 9 days.

Israel doesn't want peace - never did never will - the Zio-Nazis have been openly admitting that in print since at least as early as 1923

Zio-Nazis like to attempt to portray themselves as poor likkle innocent victims of bewildering Palestinian rage from Gaza.

But Israel not only has kept Palestinians of Gaza in the world’s largest Concentration Camp, they also have kept Gaza under an illegal blockade with the deliberate aim of severely (and illegally) limiting their nutrition without altogether starving them to death. - http://www.juancole.com/2012/10/creepy-israeli-planning....html - (shades of the Nazis and their "Minimum nutrition calculations" for Camp inmates, no?)

The food blockade has real effects.

At least 10% of Palestinian children in Gaza under 5 have had their growth stunted by malnutrition.

A recent report by Save the Children and Medical Aid for Palestinians ( - http://www.map-uk.org/files/1052_gaza_health_report_web...n.pdf - [pdf] ) found that , in addition, anemia (***) is widespread, affecting over two-thirds of infants, 58.6 percent of schoolchildren, and over a third of pregnant mothers.

-----
*** Anemia is a condition in which the body does not have enough healthy red blood cells. Red blood cells provide vital oxygen to body tissues.

Situation report 22nd Novenber 2012

Since 14th Nov 2012 158 Palestinians have been killed by Zio-Nazis

  • This includes 103 bodies that were confirmed as "Innocent Civilians" 65%

  • A minimum of 33 of those innocent Civilians were children - 32%

  • A minimum of 13 of those innocent civilians were women 12%

In addition to the 158 Palestinian deaths, numbers so far indicate that an extra
  • 1269 Palestinians were injured
the vast majority of whom were innocent civilians

  • 6 Israelis were killed - 4 Settlers and 2 Military personnel -

  • 224 other Israeli were injured, the majority of them civilians. ( Israeli medical personnel count any Israeli classifiable as suffering "Shock", with no other injuries, as being "Injured".)

NB:There no data available for the number of Palestinians, with no other injuries, suffering from mere "Shock", though one might reasonably surmise, given the frequency, scale and massively disproportionate nature of Israeli bombing and assassination campaigns, that the entire population of Gaza could at one time or another in the very recent past easily be diagnosed as suffering from "Shock"

OK, Z=N, nice propaganda work there. Now, can you explain:

a) How exactly it is "confirmed" that 65% of Gazan deaths were innocent civilians. For instance if a rocket launching team is attacked and the bodies are brought to hospital, the medical personnel have no realistic way of telling whether they were on "active service" or not. Its not like they are in uniform. In the last Gaza war, initial figures of 70/80% civilian casualties were reported. Eventually, both Hamas and the IDF independently reported about 50% civilian casualties.

b) Why the pejorative use of the term "settler" for the murdered Israelis? They were the ultimate in innocent civilians going about their own business in their own country. They were not in the disputed settlements of the West Bank; they were in Israel proper.

" Why the pejorative use of the term "settler" for the murdered Israelis? They were the ultimate in innocent civilians going about their own business in their own country. "

They were killed in an Illegal Israeli colony known as Kiryat Malachi

Kiryat Malachi was founded in 1951 on land set aside as Palestinian in the 1947 UN partitiion plan.

Zionists stole that land in 48 and built a colony/settlement on that stolen land in 1951

you can't go around armed to the teeth living on stolen land and then demand that you be seen as a "Civilian"

They are Illegal Colonists/Settlers - every bit as illegal, under international Law, as the Jewish fascist settlers armed to the teeth in the West Bank

Total Palestinian women and Palestinian children murdered by the ZIo-Nazis = 545

Even someone as ridiculous and dishonest as a Zio-Nazi cannot reasonably dispute that the 545 murdered Palestinian Women and Children were not "innocent Civilians"

Given those figures for murdered Palestinian Children and murdered Palestinian Women, it's not even remotely plausible that the Total figure for civilian dead is a mere 720 (ish)

In keeping with it's fascist ideology, borrowed from the NAZIS, Israel considers all Palestinian Males above the age of 12 to be "military age" and therefore legitimate targets, and operates on the principle of "guilty of 'terrorism' if male and Palestinian"

Population stats of separate Jewish state and Arab states as envisaged under UN Partition Plan

Territory . . . . .Arab and other population . . . . . . . . % Arab . . . . . . . Jewish population . . . . % Jewish . . . . . . Total population

Arab State . . . . . . . 725,000 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 99% . . . . . . . . . . .10,000 . . . . . . . . . . . . . .1% . . . . . . . . . . .735,000
Jewish State . . . . . .407,000 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 45% . . . . . . . . . . 498,000. . . . . . . . . . . . . 55% . . . . . . . . . . .905,000

As can be see clearly seen the population of the proposed Jewish/ZioNazi state comprised at least 45% Palestinian Arab natives - most of these people were either killed or ethnically cleansed in order to steal their land. Stealing land, especially in conjunction with Ethnic cleansing is an undoubtedly illegal act, under both domestic and International Law

Not only that but in 1948 the percentage of land in the proposed Jewish/ZioNazi State, that was actually held by Jews/ZioNazis was a minuscule 7%. that means that the remaining 93% of the land allocated for the proposed Jewish state was owned by non-Jewish/non-ZioNazi entities.

The Zio-Nazis were well aware that they needed to steal that remaining 93% of land - they had many conversations about it and much was written on the subject, clearly stating their intentions to steal anything that they liked.

Virtually ALL of the land on which the Jewish/ZioNazi state now resides was clearly stolen land under both domestic and International Law

Another thing you can always count on is oxymoronic drivel like this from some member of the Irish Labour Party - in this case the Labour councillor for Stillorgan, Richard Humpreys . According to the RTe report, Councillor Humphries told the the zio-nazi support rally :

"Israel's right to exist must be acknowledged, as the only Jewish state in the world and the only liberal secular democracy in the Middle East ."

Israel's "right to exist" comes from its arsenal of nuclear weapons, of course , and from the IDF's eagerness to ethnically cleanse and commit murder to maintain a "secular" Jewish state .

Israel’s propagandists shoot themselves
in the foot as they shoot off their mouths

gregfelton.com
September 30, 2009

If you have ever visited a blog or on-line discussion group on the Middle East you have doubtless had the misfortune to run into them.

They are known by the language they use: depraved sexual insults, bile, bigotry, threats, disinformation and character assassination. That’s right: I’m talking about “hasbarats,” zionist trolls who infect the Internet with hasbara, pro-Israel propaganda.

Of course, mainstream media hasbarats have been around for decades, as have “hasbaratchiks,” fifth-columns in foreign governments who subvert national policies to serve Israel.

The Internet, though, is the latest, some might say the greatest, propaganda playground, and Israel cannot cope with factual, passionate, well-documented stories that expose its war crimes and unrepentant criminality.

If you’ve come across a hasbarat, on-line or otherwise, you have learned that no amount of reasoned argument or intellectual maturity has any effect.

That’s because hasbarats don’t care if they come across as ignorant, obnoxious, nasty or inane. All that matters for them is sabotaging criticism of Israel and voicing hate against Muslims. They're like anti-intellectual stink bombs: designed to cause maximum discomfort but have little if any real power.

Israeli's Illegal "No Go" Murder Zones take quite a bit of land from the already land-poor Gazans

The illegal No-Go Murder-Zones stretch at times up to 3km inside Gazan territory. At it's narrowest, Gaza is only 12km wide. Israel will generally try to murder you if you enter these zones

See graphic below

===========

According to the UN-OCHA report of 21st Nov 2012, linked above

Israel destroyed or seriously damaged 300 Palestinian houses.

Such dwellings tend to contain much larger numbers of people per household than households in Israel or the West

Due to the "Extended Family" style of living amongst Palestinians many of these houses would contain several generations of the same family along with spouses and each couple's children etc as opposed to the more western-style "One nuclear-family per household" living arrangement popular amongst the Jewish Israeli population of Southern Israel

A further 1700 Palestinian houses were also damaged, but to a lesser extent.

During the most intense periods of the Israeli assault on Gaza, UNRWA-run schools were left trying to provide shelter from more than 12,000 people desperately seeking refuge from Israeli bombs

In total 80 Israeli houses were destroyed or severely damaged.

1. House Demolition

    Unit: Kfir Brigade
    Location: Nablus district
    Year: 2009

  • During your service in the territories, what shook you up the most?
The searches we did in Hares. They said there are sixty houses that have to be searched. I thought there must have been some information from intelligence. I tried to justify it to myself.

  • You went out as a patrol?
It was a battalion operation. They spread out over the whole village, took over the school, smashed the locks, the classrooms. One was used as the investigation room for the Shin Bet, one room for detainees, one for the soldiers to rest. We went in house by house, banging on the door at two in the morning. The family's dying of fear, the girls are peeing in their pants with fear. We go into the house and turn everything upside down.

  • What's the procedure?
Gather the family in a certain room, put a guard there, tell the guard to aim his gun at them, and then search the rest of the house. We got another order that everyone born after 1980... everyone between sixteen and twenty-nine, doesn't matter who, bring them in cuffed and blindfolded. They yelled at old people, one of them had an epileptic seizure but they carried on yelling at him. Every house we went into, we brought everyone between sixteen and twenty-nine to the school. They sat tied up in the schoolyard.

  • Did they tell you the purpose of all this?
To locate weapons. But we didn't find any weapons. They confiscated kitchen knives. There was also stealing. One guy took twenty shekels. Guys went into the houses and looked for things to steal. This was a very poor village. The guys were saying, "What a bummer, there's nothing to steal."

  • That was said in a conversation among the soldiers?
Yeah. They enjoyed seeing the misery, the guys were happy talking about it. There was a moment someone yelled at the soldiers. They knew he was mentally ill, but one of the soldiers decided that he'd beat him up anyway, so they smashed him.

They hit him in the head with the butt of the gun, he was bleeding, then they brought him to the school along with everyone else. There were a pile of arrest orders signed by the battalion commander, ready, with one area left blank. They'd fill in that the person was detained on suspicion of disturbing the peace. They just filled in the name and the reason for arrest. There were people with plastic handcuffs that had been put on really tight. I got to speak with the people there. One of them had been brought into Israel to work for a settler and after two months the guy didn't pay him and handed him over to the police.

  • All these people came from that one village?
    Yes.

  • Anything else you remember from that night?
A small thing, but it bothered me—one house that they just destroyed. They have a dog for weapons searches, but they didn't bring him; they just wrecked the house. The mother watched from the side and cried. Her kids sat with her and stroked her.

  • What do you mean, they just destroyed the house?
They smashed the floors, turned over sofas, threw plants and pictures, turned over beds, smashed the closets, the tiles. There were other things—the look on the people's faces when you go into their house. And after all that, they were left tied up and blindfolded in the school for hours. The order came to free them at four in the afternoon. So that was more than twelve hours. There were investigators from the security services there who interrogated them one by one.

  • Had there been a terrorist attack in the area?
No. We didn't even find any weapons. The brigade commander claimed that the Shin Bet did find some intelligence, that there were a lot of guys there who throw stones.

Interview at link.

American journalist and scholar Gregory Harms believes that the recent 8-day Israeli war on the Gaza Strip might have been waged to distract public attention from the internal socioeconomic crises and problems the Israeli regime faces, especially ahead of the January 2013 legislative elections. He believes that launching airstrikes on Gaza may serve to give Benjamin Netanyahu and the Likud party a secure vote in the upcoming elections.

“[P]ushing the Gaza button focuses Israelis on matters of security. The population in Israel is highly manipulated and taught to be fearful… Israel's isolation is bad for the country and its people; it cultivates a very unhealthy national psychology. As a result - and quite similar to Americans - the public is easily turned around. When things are too calm, the people begin focusing on domestic issues and the economy. This has been a serious issue in Israel, with massive protesting occurring over housing costs and income disparity. Israel's economy is better than most, but there are serious grievances, and when the Arab Spring took hold of North Africa and the Arab Middle East, its effects were felt in Jerusalem, Haifa, and Tel Aviv,” he said in a recent interview with me after the announcement of ceasefire between Hamas and Israel on November 21.

It rains rocket from Gaza, never bombs from Israel - http://www.redressonline.com/2012/11/it-rains-rocket-fr...rael/

By Stuart Littlewood

Alistair Burt is the UK Foreign Office minister in charge of Middle East affairs. He is also a former officer of the Conservative Friends of Israel lobby group. He resigned from that position when he became a minister, but leopards don’t suddenly change their spots.

    Judge for yourself.

I sent a question through my MP asking why government ministers such as Burt quote exact numbers of rockets fired from Gaza without also giving the corresponding numbers of bombs, rockets, shells and other ordnance poured into Gaza by the Israeli military.

In his letter of reply Burt says: “There are no reliable statistics on the number of bombs and other ordnance fired by the Israel Defence Force on Gaza and Israel does not make public this information”.

In that case, should he not make it clear when quoting Gaza’s rocket numbers that Israel refuses to provide numbers of their own vastly superior missiles used to bombard Gaza? . . . . .

Mea culpa

Hague was never chair of CFoI

BUT he was recruited into the Conservative Friends of Israel at the worryingly tender age of 15.

In 2007, as shadow foreign secretary, he said, "We will always have strong economic and political ties with Israel. We will always be a friend of Israel."

Any effort to portray either William Hague or David Cameron merely as a passive instrument of the pro-Israel lobby is wide of the mark.

In the months after William Hague was appointed shadow foreign secretary, accepted personal donations from CFI board members totalling tens of thousands of pounds

In 2008, he declared, "The unbroken thread of Conservative Party support for Israel that has run for nearly a century from the Balfour Declaration to the present day will continue. Although it will no doubt often be tested in the years ahead, it will remain constant, unbroken, and undiminished by the passage of time."

Hague told the Jewish Chronicle in an interview, "We don't approve of expanding settlements on the West Bank and East Jerusalem because it makes the two-state solution more difficult." Not, mark you, because it’s a barbaric crime to dispossess Arabs of their lands, homes and livelihoods... he doesn’t approve because it's a bit awkward politically.

"I've traveled across the country,” he continued. “I've stood on the Golan Heights and swam in the Sea of Galilee. I've stood on the part of the West Bank where you can see the Mediterranean, where you really understand Israel's strategic fragility."

Hague's Zionist sympathies ooze from every pore.

All things considered, given how happy he appears to take their money, the guy is a big worry

The head of the United Nations agency tasked with helping Palestinian refugees said that the ceasefire halting the recent violence between Israel and Palestinians in Gaza offered a chance to “address the real problems underlying the crisis.”

It is of crucial… importance that we seize the opportunity provided by this tragic escalation,” the Commissioner-General of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNWRA), Filippo Grandi, on 26 November said in remarks at a meeting of the body’s Advisory Commission, taking place by the Dead Sea in Jordan.

Mr Grandi noted that an Israeli blockade on Gaza, imposed since 2007, was illegal, and the “greatest danger is to return to the status quo ante, and restore the prison-like conditions of Gaza.” He said it would be “only a matter of time (until) violence resumes” if there was such a return.

Grandi called for the blockade to be “lifted in all its aspects.”

So I moved to this new neighbourhood. Found a guy who sold me a house. He was happy to do the deal and I paid him the price he asked. Ok we haggled but thats a way of life around here. Anyway, I moved in and all was well. Told my friends it was a nice area and they came bought some houses too from the guys pals. Problem was, the guy then said it was still his house and he wanted it back. His pals wanted the houses they sold back too. Then they all got a big gang of their mates to come and start a fight with us to try and throw us out of the houses. Fortunately we won the fight but some of my friends died in the battle. The guy built another house close to mine so I thought, great, he's now going to be happy in his house and leave me in peace in mine. No such luck. The guy wouldn't even talk to me about where the boundary was between his garden and mine. For 19 years! Anyway, the guy kept on attacking my house and my family from his house. His pals did the same to my friends. More of my friends were killed. Then their big gang of mates got involved again and started to block stuff coming to our houses and throw big rocks at us. Eventually we got really fed up of this and decided to occupy his house. And some of his pals and his big gang of mates houses too. As soon as we did, we said right, if you agree to live in peace with us we will get out of your houses. Straight away. We thought this was a pretty good offer. But his pals got together with their big gang of mates again and said, no, they wouldn't live in peace with us; no, they wouldn't talk to us and no, they wouldn't recognise our right to the houses they sold us. Oh, well, what could we do? Some of the big gang of mates eventually did a deal with us and we got out of their houses. They don't fight with us any more. We even gave some of the guys pals their houses back without doing a deal. But they're the biggest problem of all. They're still fighting with us. What can we do?

US to Re-Arm Israeli Terrorists - http://www.commondreams.org/headline/2012/12/12-9

The U.S. Department of Defense stated this week that it will now replenish all of the munitions used by Israel in its recent eight day siege on Gaza, which lead to the deaths of over 180 Palestinians and hundreds of injuries—a large portion being children.

The DoD notified Congress on Monday of the $647 million deal with Israel to restock the Israel Air Force (IAF) with munitions used in the over one thousand bombings conducted during the [recent Israeli Massacres of Palestinians] in Gaza last month. Congress is expected to approve the deal this week.

The DoD said the deal includes roughly 7,000 Joint Attack Munitions kits, and 10,000 bombs of various kinds, mostly bunker-buster bombs, including 1,725 BLU-109 bunker-buster bombs, and 3,450 GBU-39 bunker-buster bombs.

In addition to the large amount of civilian casualties, the assault on Gaza also destroyed roughly 8,000 buildings and roughly $1.2 billion in infrastructural damage, according to Palestinian officials.
