Some Gems of Fascism from the American Chamber of Commerce Website

The American Chamber has excellent access to Irish and European public policy networks, opinion leaders and leading media commentators. Through participation in Working Groupss and contributions to submissions for Government, the Chamber keeps Irish decision makers focussed on the factors contributing to the continued attractiveness of Ireland as a location for foreign direct investment.

The Irish Media also takes its orders from this local office of the Empire

The American Chamber membership is collectively proactive in promoting the importance of US Investment to the Irish economy throughout the year. It has excellent access to Irish and European public policy networks, opinion leaders and leading media commentators.

Sidelining the electorate: Money talks - Voters Write Numbers on Bits of Paper

The American Chamber holds regular meetings with key decision makers, including politicians, ministerial advisors, agency directors, and key civil servants. These meetings provide the Government with the opportunity to hear directly from the multinational sector and learn what issues are affecting them. We have regular engagement with key Government departments such as Finance, Foreign Affairs & Trade, Education, and Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation.

Chamber policy is informed directly by the Membership through the Working Groups on the key areas of R&D, Taxation, Human Resources and Employment Law. These groups are comprised of experts from member companies in each field. They are charged with the responsibility of formulating constructive policy positions based on the input from the wider membership. Through this public affairs programme the American Chamber aims to ensure an attractive business environment remains in Ireland that will enable us to continue to retain and grow US investment here.

Making Sure the Rich are Looked After

The Chamber’s work in tax was commended especially in championing a competitive taxation regime and protecting Ireland’s headline rate of 12.5%. Changes in taxation and pension regulation are pointing to less attractive environment for higher earners based in Ireland. There is a pressing need for a tax friendly approach to company benefits packages for employees as a tool to attract and retain talent.

Keeping Irish Workers Agile - Or, as it used to be known - Servile

Cost remains a challenge for businesses with a historic base. Flexibility has been a key mitigating factor against higher costs over comparable locations within their corporations. The agility of the workforce employed should be protected.
