Part of Stop Climate Chaos Events
To celebrate the international day of action on climate change on Sunday September 21st you can join the family friendly event in Clare.
On Sunday, September 21st, just days before a landmark climate summit at the UN, Avaaz members around the world are taking part in a People's Climate March. World leaders don’t believe enough of us care about climate change, that’s why they’re still not yet rising to the challenge of saving our planet. But on September 21, we have an unprecedented chance to prove them wrong, with the largest climate mobilisation in history. We're joining with the Burrenbeo Conservation Volunteers who are organising a cleanup on the day. Together we'll make a local difference and add our voices to the global call for sane political responses to climate change.
This event is organised by Burrenbeo Trust, local Transition initiatives and An Taisce members.
Meeting time is 11 am at the Blackhead lay-by, 1 km to the north of Fanore on the coast road.
The event plan is cleaning up part of the rocky coastline around Blackhead followed by a picnic. Please bring good footwear (walking boots preferably as the terrain is very rough), warm clothes, sun cream (just in case the sun comes out), lunch and a drink, gloves (if you have them, otherwise we can lend you some), and anything you may wish to share at coffee time. The tea and coffee box will be there so you might want to bring a mug too just in case we don't have enough.
