[Wicklow] IPSC Annual Sponsored Hill Walk 2014 – Sugar Loaf Mountain

category wicklow | anti-war / imperialism | event notice author Tuesday September 23, 2014 21:24author by ipsc Report this post to the editors

Sun, 28 September 2014, 11:00 Sugarloaf Mountain, Kilmacanogue, Co. Wicklow

This year the IPSC Sponsored Hill Walk will take place on Sunday 28th September 2014. This year we will again be trekking up (and back down) the famous Sugarloaf Mountain in Co. Wicklow. We will be setting off from Kilmacanogue, Co. Wicklow at 11.00am and finishing up with a meal and some liquid sustenance back in Kilmacanogue. The walk will take us up one of Ireland’s most famous small mountains and provide a beautiful view of the surrounding areas.

The last seven years’ walks have been enormous fun and raised a lot of money for the IPSC, as well as letting people get to know each other a little better and have a bit of craic together.

If you are interested in coming along and getting sponsorship (there is no minimum sponsorship fee!) then please email info@ipsc.ie with your details, put ‘Sponsored Walk’ in the subject title and we will send you on a sponsorship card and any further relevant info. Alternatively, you can phone us on (01) 8727798.

How to get there and back:

Setting out from Dublin city, the 145 Bus route terminates in Kilmacanogue. We will meet at Kilmacanogue bus stop at 11.00am and set out from there. There is a bus leaving Dublin just after 10am from D’Olier St that takes 1 hour to reach Kilmacanogue, people should aim to get that one.

Getting back, we will be getting the bus from Kilmacanogue back to Dublin.

What to bring:

Everyone should bring a packed lunch, enough to drink, warm and waterproof clothing, hiking/walking boots. The walk is not difficult, but participants should have a reasonable level of fitness. People will also be required to sign an indemnity form prior to the start of the walk. If you have any inquiries specific to the walk (as opposed to sponsorship etc) please contact Pat on 085 7432293.

We hope to hear from interested people soon!
