[Dublin] IPSC Annual Sponsored Hill Walk - Howth Head - 11 September 2016

category dublin | rights, freedoms and repression | event notice author Thursday August 18, 2016 17:09author by IPSC - IPSCauthor email info at ipsc dot ieauthor phone (01) 8727798 Report this post to the editors

This year the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign Sponsored Hill Walk will take place on Sunday 11th September 2016.

This year we will be taking one of the loop paths up along the cliffs of the stunning Howth Head. We will be setting off from the outside the DART station in Howth, Co. Dublin at 12pm, and finishing up with a meal and some liquid sustenance in Howth. The walk will take us along up Howth cliffs, taking in the stunning views of Lambay Island and Ireland’s Eye, accompanied by the scent of coconut from the bright yellow gorse on the heath. In total, the walk is about 10 kilometers.

The last nine years’ walks have been enormous fun and raised a lot of money for the IPSC, as well as letting people get to know each other a little better and have a bit of craic together.

If you are interested in coming along and getting sponsorship (there is no minimum sponsorship fee!) then please email info@ipsc.ie with your details, put ‘Sponsored Walk’ in the subject title and we will send you on a sponsorship card and any further relevant info. Alternatively, you can phone us on (01) 8727798.

How to get there and back:

The easiest way is probably to get the DART train service to Howth DART station. We’ll be meeting outside the station – keep an eye out for some Palestinian flags flying.

What to bring:

Everyone should bring a packed lunch, enough to drink, warm and waterproof clothing, hiking/walking boots. The walk is not difficult, but participants should have a reasonable level of fitness. People will also be required to sign an indemnity form prior to the start of the walk. If you have any inquiries specific to the walk (as opposed to sponsorship etc) please contact Pat on 085 7432293.

We hope to hear from interested people soon!
