People in UK Defy the Lunatic Lockdown. Boris Races to Stay Relevant

category national | rights, freedoms and repression | news report author Monday May 11, 2020 21:10author by 1 of indy Report this post to the editors

The weekend just gone by in the UK was a bank holiday weekend and the weather was really good. Millions of UK citizens fed up with the lunatic lockdown defied the authorities and were out in parks, beaches and on the streets in their droves. There were so many the police gave up trying to impose it. Even some pubs here and there opened up and people sat out enjoying the sun and having a pint. All the pubs should open rather than commit economic suicide and they should ask their customers to defend them.

Up to that point the UK government message was Stay At Home. Today when many people returned to work it is reckoned the numbers up back to the near 70% to 80% of normal. Some of the London tubes were packed and nobody dropped dead as a result. This morning media figures including many celebrity figures were stunned and wondered what was going on while many who had stuck rigidly to the rules realized they have been fooled and lied to in the past 6 to 8 weeks.

The government was thrown into sheer panic and quickly changed their message to Stay Alert and have tried to catch up with events on the ground so that they can stay relevant and begin clawing back the situation.

Today on the Irish media there is no mention of packed trains or pictures of the huge crowds out over the weekend in the UK enjoying the sun. The reason is that Irish people might see it and come to their senses too. It is absolutely that incredulous that tens of thousands of small business people here are quite prepared to see their businesses go to the wall and do not seem to be a bit suspicious. It is time they got some backbone and stood for themselves. In Britain Boris Johnston had laid out a slow plan for coming out of the lockdown and a lot of nonsense about protecting children in schools. This was simply designed to keep the fear going so that people would not ask questions. Today in the British media for a short this morning, while when people spoke their minds they were asking why if the trains and buses are packed, the parks full and so on, what is the point. Much of this was largely the realization how insane the lockdown is, that the numbers have been talked up and a huge amount of lying is going on. The UK government has had to submit to the public response and agree to the speed up of lifting the lockdown including open schools in 3 weeks. But don't underestimate their ability to claw back.

Their media strategy in the coming days will be to only talk to the fanatics following ridiculous government advice and they will claim the millions who broke the lockdown are just a small minority. We will also see escalated scare mongering about a second wave and strange disease affecting children linked to Covid. Such stories have already circulated in the past two weeks. These in fact are articles about kids with the well known Kawasaki disease but they have tried to imply it is related to Covid. It is not. A child or even an adult can have exposure to Covid, got through it no problem and show up in tests as having it. Always check the language when they say died of or died with Covid. Also notice a greater emphasis on reporting infections as opposed to deaths. People who are half listening wrongly think they are death totals.

None of these UK weekend scenes dare be shown on our televisions here in Ireland and instead they make Boris Johnston out to be a fool implying he messed up. In fact he is racing to contain the outbreak of sanity and gain control of the narrative. As a rule if people stop believing the media, the media has to catch up with them again to stay relevant and from there control their narrative. One of the primary tools of that in this phase of the Covid situation, is the emphasis on wearing masks. There is no better way to keep this going. It implies there is something to be scared of. Also one will wonder why is their such an emphasis on schools and very little on any other aspect of the economy. The reason is that they are implying that children are at risk of dying and need to be protected. Virtually no children have died of this and any that they trawl up had some underlying complication. In a normal time, it is unfortunate but children do die of things like cancer. The government have cynically tried their best to imply this disease is high risk to these groups. By making a big fuss about protections around school, it implies there is something dangerous to be protected against.

It is strange when the government starved primary education of funds in this country for decades that they will be prepared to spend 10s of millions on ridiculous isolation measures which are not needed. Any amount of money has, is and will be used to keep this Covid thing going. After-all they are quite prepared to sink the economy.

This is lunacy. Irish people of course are aware of the crowds on beaches in the UK. To suggest otherwise is delusional.

To suggest people worrying about schools etc are worrying mainly about kids dying is total crap. They are worried about schools becoming centres of community spread - bringing virus into homes with vunerable adults / kids with serious medical issues.

I could go on - but this is outrageous paranoid conspiranoia. In fact this site is now so riddled with same that it resembles nothing more than a far-right anti-vaxxer site. I mean - it is all the same trumpist bullshit.

time to reconsider your membership of the collective, perhaps . If you genuinely believe that indymedia is now a right wing conspiracy site you shouldn't moderate it .
