in the last photo. What a bunch of hypocrites! Support the charges in Sligo, get a Sinn Fein mayor, have the charges increased to the highest in the country.
As I am very confused, could someone from Sinn Fein, such as Justin Moran, please inform me of the Sinn Fein policy on the bin charges?
'What a bunch of hypocrites!'
one person holds a shinner sign in a crowd (you cannot even see who it is in the picture) and you declare:'What a bunch of hypocrites!'
Who knows if he or she was even a dues paying shinner, who knows why that person picked up that placard and not a SWP or SP poster, yet you denounced this activist, whom you do not know.
people come to this web site to read news and commentary and you have appointed yourself to be executioner of some poor bloke who decided to get involved in dublin activism.
some of the comments on this web site do more harm than help, even if you have the right to say it, it doesnt mean you should.
...next time double check before you go talking rubbish. Who was the subject of the comment? Was it an activist or was it a poster? maybe on reflection you'll see who it was...
And I would still like to hear Sinn Fein's position on this.
...asking for clarrification. Unless of course the harm is to Sinn Fein...So can you explain your position too xexer. Just for clarrification.
'hypocrites' is a strong word to use against someone you dont know personally.
i'd appreciate it if your comments were directed clearly at parties and not at individuals who you do not know.
your post was unclear who your fantasy enemy was
"'hypocrites' is a strong word to use against someone you dont know personally."
Just to state again, that acusation was directed at Sinn Fein. And why would I need to know someone personally to say hypocrite? If the behaviour opposes the rhetoric then the term applies, to the best of my understanding.
"i'd appreciate it if your comments were directed clearly at parties and not at individuals who you do not know."
Once again, it was parties, not individuals.
Can you point out to the virtual audience where you picked up on individual?

in the last photo. What a bunch of hypocrites! Support the charges in Sligo, get a ####Sinn Fein#### mayor, have the charges increased to the highest in the country.

Also notice in the title "Sinn Fein's poster...". At no point can I find any mention to the holder of it.
Can I have some of what you are on? I've always wondered what it's like to see things that aren't there...
...I notice that in last years manifesto the party (for those who might still think I'm talking about the individual) stated under the "WASTE MANAGEMENT Towards Zero Waste" section:
• Reversing the privatisation of local authority refuse services. "
Reversing what they, in their strategic silence, were complicit in bring about.
A 2000 letter, printed in the Irish Examiner and written by a Sligo man to re-jog the memory:
"THE hypocrisy, double standards and U turns of Sinn Féin never cease to amaze me. During the last local election they pledged to vote against the imposition of refuse charges.
In Sligo, as soon as the election was over, the party changed its mind and signed up to a mayoral pact with Fianna Fáil. As part of the deal with the latter, Sinn Féin agreed to drop its opposition to the refuse charges in Sligo.
At last year’s estimates meeting of Sligo Corporation, the Sinn Féin councillors abstained on the refuse charge vote, thereby allowing their Fianna Fáil colleagues to impose the charges.
It is now clear that Sinn Féin intends to stick by its deal and allow Fianna Fáil to impose increased refuse charges in Sligo this year.
How can Sinn Féin oppose refuse charges in Dublin, Cork and other areas, while it refuses to oppose the charges in Sligo?
Martin Cadden,
Ballydoogan,
Sligo. "
http://archives.tcm.ie/irishexaminer/2000/11/24/current/opinionpage_2.htm
And here's what Sinn Fein had to say:
"Sinn Féin councillors were involved in key debates and votes in Dublin, Sligo, Cork and Kerry. In many councils it was a simple case of straightforward opposition to the charges, but on Sligo Corporation, Sinn Féin councillors confronting the opportunism and two-faced attitude of Fine Gael and Labour councilors were forced into taking some very hard decisions in favour of the greater common good."
At http://www.irlnet.com/aprn/archive/2000/November30/30sfon.html
"The greater common good" of society or Sinn Fein? And now opposing the bin tax? Who's being opportunistic???!
Did someone mention local elections?
talking to your self is a definition of insanity.
put a lid on it
if you have a clear argument to make then make it and respond to the points above. Your childish slurring might get a response from some, but its not going to achieve anything here.
And to respond to your slur, if, as you say "talking to your self is a definition of insanity.", then I wonder if you fall into the same category when you say "Lars, you are boring us". Where is the 'us' you talk about Xexer, or "definition of insanity" (your style of typing is just too easy to pick up on). Are you suffering from a case of me, myself and Xexer, or maybe thats "definition of insanity"?
And "put a lid on it"? maybe you should join FF. They like to silence dissent.
And I can't help but notice that there has still been no response from Sinn Fein.
yep, the comments above all seem odd.
:-)
