Article: Labour fury at 'Brutal' culling of pigs

Start:

The Department of Agriculture has been slammed over claims a farmer was
forced to kill his pigs with a sledgehammer. The incident took places on
a farm in Co.Waterford in 2002 but details only emerged this weekend.
The department had suspected the 4,300 pigs were being fed with
carbodox-an illegal substance linked to cancer in humans-and insisted
they be destroyed.

But, because of fears of contamination, the porkers could not be sent to
a slaughterhouse and had to be killed on the farm-at the farmers
expense. A stun-gun was being used but it broke and about 50 pigs were
killed with the sledgehammer. The farmer said: "It was awful, but they
forced me to do it. I had no alternative."

Labour agricultural spokeswoman Mary Upton, called for a full
investigation yesterday. She claimed: "It appears there was little
support available to the farms when he was faced with the problem of
slaughtering 4,000 pigs and this appears to have contributed to the
shocking scenes. "It is simple not good enough for the Department of
Agriculture to shrug its shoulders and say the department inspectors
present made no adverse comments in their reports."

A department spokesperson said nothing illegal had taken place during
the cull. He added that a court case was pending over the allegations
that illegal substances had been fed to the animals.

If anyone feels they could join our protest against this brutality to defenceless animals, please email berniew@esatclear.ie.
The perpatrator of this crime should be removed from society as he is a danger to humanity and is obviously of a distorted mind.
The Department of Agriculture do not intend to prosecute this sick individual and he is free to abuse more animals if he decides to.

Of course humans can choose to support farmers by buying their carved up body parts to eat ,or they can choose to be outraged at the practise of farming sentient creatures for their flesh....everyone who consumes meat must realise that they are supporting the atrocities committed on Irish farms.

Sounds like a threat of violence.

Sabwatch,
Out of curiosity, exactly what was Robin Webb convicted of? You might be better getting your facts straight before making false accusations.

author by camilla parkmyballspublication date Sat Jun 25, 2005 04:29author address author phone Report this post to the editors

"FBI surprise on top domestic terror threat: It's not abortion foes or Klan, but animal and eco-extremists. "

Could it be the same in Ireland?

Webb has been convicted on his own guilty plea:
http://www.animalrights.net/archives/year/2003/000061.html.
Webb was jailed on a $50,000 bond, pleaded guilty and thrown out of the US.

He was also jailed for 7 months in 1995 in the UK.

Other trials against him have collapsed, but the recorded evidence is damning. He's a terrorist.

In a 1999 attack, a British reporter who had infiltrated ALF the year before with a hidden camera - capturing footage of ALF UK spokesperson Robin Webb supplying a bomb-making manual and suggesting a target to activists - was abducted by a number of men. They branded the letters ALF on his back. with a red hot iron. Nice people. Who are the real PIGS here?

Robin Webb has never been convicted of anything. He was on remand for 9 months but it was dropped because there was no evidence.

Webb was also arrested at in the States because he was the 51st person at a demo after the cops had specified that they would only allow 50 people at the demo.

So he's a terrorist? Please supply some real facts?

The British reporter wasn't branded by the ALF. It was a publicity stunt that he was paid twenty five thousand pounds for. The whole documentary was a set-up.

author by SABWATCHpublication date Sat Jun 25, 2005 13:57author address author phone Report this post to the editors

Goodness me.Thats pretty cheap to have ALF initials cut into your flesh. So I suppose the hospital report of this and the plastic surgeon were in on this as well?? Why was he never prosecuted for wasting police time, etc etc.
Face up to it ALF scored an own goal and showed themselves up to be no better than terroristic thugs and were very pissed off that they were caught beautifuly by some exellent undercover reporting.
Intrestingly to see to that the bould BernieW and Co were at a paramilitary training camp held in the UK last year.[,Of which we have some exellent footage btw,not to mind some fine undercover recordings of planned attacks in the UK and Ireland.which are now in the hands of the UK police and Gardai]
Innocent harmless animal rights protestors learning self defence and covert infiltration[which was a very ametuer lecture]

So we will be in Dublin all right,we will gladly pay in and donate, but YOU will not know WHO we are or where we are.Look forward to seeing[filming and recording]you all.

You may continue to argue that black is white. The fact remains that he has a conviction on record in the US.

Not only is he a terrorist, but a nut too. Some quotations:

“Although fish and chip shops haven't been targeted before so far as I can remember, they would be considered legitimate targets.”

“Believe me, you don’t have to worry about prison. I’ve been there -- it’s a doggle. You can put your feet up and recharge your batteries, and go back out there when you’re released and start all over again. You can go to education to read up. I mean someone, someone actually read up on electronics while they were in prison, and went out and started doing electronic incendiary devices. Use your time inside to teach yourself!”

He was never prosecuted for wasting police time...wait for it....because he never went to the police,,,,or the hospital;,,,or a plastic surgeon, in fact he has never been seen or heard of since, He also in the past has taken money from Welfare Groups for work he never did, Grahame Hall that is.
Only place GH went to was the newspapers.

Webb make Donald Rumsfeld look like Donald Duck.

The reporter, Hall, who was branded said:

"I FELT AN EXCRUCIATING PAIN ACROSS MY BACK. I SMELT BURNED SKIN.. AND I REALISED I WAS BEING BRANDED. "NOW JUSTICE HAS BEEN DONE" I HEARD SOMEONE SAY. "

Hall was permanently scarred by the barbaric mutilation. Channel 4 which showed the film in a Dispatches programme and won a BAFTA news journalism award and also a Royal Television Society award for the progamme.

Of course Webb said: that he denied any knowledge of the attack on Mr Hall but said

"People who make a living in this way have to expect from time to time to take the consequences of their actions." Sounds very familiar...

Honestly Sabwatch, you are the worst undercover operative ever. Here's a tip for you, when you want to covertly infiltrate something, be it a meeting or a sab group, don't make the people suspicious by telling them that you're going to infiltrate their group!

But not even you could be THAT stupid, somehow I don't think any of the people involved in organising this meeting are particulary interested in your alarmist comments and reactionary activity.

The animal rights movement is quite intelligent, and given all this recent press coverage involving extremism, and the reaction the gathering in the UK in going to stir up in the press, it's quite realistic to say that this meeting will be of interest to Irish authorities. Why would these good people worry about amatuers like you?

And as for posting some ladies home address online. What other reason have you got to do it apart from trying to induce TERROR?

Ohh, and for the record, it was the THIRD time (convicted house burglar) Graham Hall was (allegedy) kidnapped. The last time was by badger baiting bumpkins who tarred and feathered him. Pretty unlucky fella hey? It was quite funny, when the revelation came out even Earth Dog Running Dog magazine did a piece defending the animal rights movement claim that they didn't touch him!

If we were worried, then why would we be publicly promoting it? Hopefully you'll find it as stimulating as we will. Look forward to having you there.
