All around the world airports are being built and enlarged in countries which appear to realise the 'climate crisis' is just a load of nonsense. But not in poor, gullible Britain.

Paris Housing Hell (2)

category international | housing | news report author Friday September 16, 2005 14:13author by iosaf Report this post to the editors

"for their own good"

The fires which killed over 30 people mostly children in Paris this summer, brought impetus to the French migrant support groups, and housing organisations.

Chirac expressed shock and horror. De Villepin's government promised action and a "census" of slum housing where France's african migrants live.

Pretty soon after the police moved into forceably evict the houses on the census list, arresting those within, processing them for deportation and sending them off to the migrant detention centres "for their own good".

Chirac collapsed the same day.

Early this morning a squatted building at 21 rue Maroc (19th arrrond) was evicted in the same style.

The style is :-

armed police. guns. gloves. armoured vans.
The families within are searched, no medical support is offered, the children watch as their parents are temporarily seperated. Those with papers are now homeless, those without are processed to be "sent back".

The spin is:-

"The Police acting for the State have evacuated an unsafe building"

The squat at Rue Maroc was home to 24 people, 18 of whom are children. It is the third such squat to be cleared.

The Green Party and DAL (droit a logement the main housing pressure group) have naturally denounced the evicition.

Indymedia paris has reported an occupation action in support of the migrants at rue Meynadier also in the 19th.

To demand access to social support, housing, for those who live in these slum "hotels" or squats.

Turning these children onto the street is no solution to the threat of fire or disease. It will soon be winter.

depends on where you start from.
do what you can to acheive an equal start for all.
That family are going to start their jounrey "home" to the other side of the wall now. The policemen who shepherd them through our laws will become steadily less well equiped and rougher of hand.
The shoes will wear out. The child will grow.
Look carefully for now this woman has her hair in a tress, a fashion which took the world when julia Tymoshenko became prime minister of the Ukraine.

what a small world we live in.

"Face à la violence inouïe des assaillants, qui étaient poussés par l'énergie du désespoir, la police a légitimement défendu ses postes de surveillance devant le grillage, et six immigrés clandestins ont trouvé la mort",

& so the death of 6 people whom we agree are african rather than from some dystopic abstract termed sub-sahara is reported.
