The Bush protest vids just keep on coming!

éirígí carried out a number of actions in the run up to the visit of George W Bush to Ireland, culminating in replacing the Union Jack over Belfast City Hall with the Iraqi flag in solidarity with the people of the Arab nation.

Hi to everybody,

I like the way Eirigi acted.

However, one thing is sympathy one thing is how to carry out a political line.

Moreover, I believe Sinn Fein has implemented a good policy during many years.

In addition, the most important thing is to be united and coordinate actions together because the left wing has been historically exposed to division.

To sum up, Hasta La Victoria Simepre, Patria o Muerte!

Is it very strange that anyone might praise a group on this site, particularly in light of the story here which relates to specific actions that people may deem worthy of praise?

Jealousy aul son jealousy.

There is a rule that eirigi members have to post a certain number of comments on the internet praising the group, in the same way that members of the swp have to sell a certain number of newspapers.

at the minute, these are the most active boys and girls on the left..

during lisbon their campaign was miles ahead of most, even going over to the islands and with bridge banners around the country- Uncle E.U got a lot of media attention too. the removals truck and other stuff comes to mind too. on the anti war stuff the above shows the exciting kind of activism they're engaged in there. they distribute propaganda at events like Dub GAA matches, and I even seen them with a NO TO LISBON banner on the hill.

they put a lot of the smaller left groups to shame during lisbon, and through their proclamation distro they're engaging with ordinary people north and south. am not a member of a political org. but i find eirigis brand of activism lately exciting and a good sign of whats ahead for the left in ireland

Ever eager to impose their reactionary viewpoints at every opportunity, the Democratic Unionist Party and the British National Party have launched several verbal attacks on Patricia McKeown and her union, UNISON, in the last number of days.

Prominent trade unionist McKeown has been lambasted by the two far-right parties following her defence of the éirígí activists who removed the British Union Jack from Belfast’s City Hall on Monday (June 16) and replaced it with the flag of Iraq.

Militant nonviolent direct action aka these examples posted here and the recent Raytheon 9 action www.raytheon9.org
rather than the co-option of parliamentarianism
or the dead end of armed struggle
seem like the most relevant way to go for the best of Republican tradition still interested in ending partition and securing an Ireland based on social justice north and south

Well done to all involved in éirígí's actions in the days leading up to, and including the day of, the war criminal Bush's visit.

It's also interesting to see that they also gave Brown the warm welcome he deserves too, being the occupying force in Ireland and all.

I've heard a wee bit about this group and wasn't convinced that their was room for yet another group in Belfast.

However, it appears that they have made room for themselves and my hope has been reignited somewhat.

The message is, it appears that there is a new sheriff in town and I for one wish them all the best.

éirígí - I'll see you on the streets.
