In his Sixth Form Christmas quiz this year, none of Dave Summers's students could name the author of To Kill a Mockingbird ? previously one of the easy questions. Another sign that wokery is dissolving our culture.

If Christmas songs fall foul of Labour's 'banter ban', Christmas carols ? with their 'offensive' assertions of the divinity of Christ that are deemed blasphemous by Islam ? are even more likely to, says Julian Mann.

Keir Starmer is preparing to tie Britain to the EU's Net Zero plans in a move that would impose radically stricter 'green' energy targets on homes and businesses, leading to further deindustrialisation and impoverishment.

Dumping of sewage into rivers is supposed to happen only 'exceptionally'. But in Odell it occurred for over a third of the year. In Bedford it may be worse ? but the monitoring equipment is broken, says Mike Wells.

AECI: Too Little Too Late

category national | worker & community struggles and protests | opinion/analysis author Tuesday August 12, 2008 14:14author by John McCoy Report this post to the editors

The Association Of Electrical Contractors Ireland (AECI) have attemped to put the blame for the bad deal for Employers under the current Electrical REA on the other Employers Body Involved in The Electrical Registered Employment Agreement.

In Their latest newsletter they say on the issue of excessive pay rates "Unfortunately AECI did not have the full support of another employer body" They also try to justify their recent track record of not achieving the best deal for their members and attempt to blame their small membership and lack of funds for their ineffectness.
While their newsletter speaks about the events in the Labour Court at the open hearing forced by the new NECI, they conviently forget to tell their members that on the 16th of May they were going into the Labour Court with the other parties to sign up for the €1.05 increase. If it were not for the swift actions from supporters of NECI the rate increse would have been signed sealed and delivered on that day.
They are correct when they say in the Newsletter That there is a need for a "Strong United Association" but alas this Association will not be AECI.
The new NECI have proved in a short space of time that they have the strength to challange the serious bad deal for Employers under the current Registered Employment Agreement . It is clear that The NECI are now the Association who are saying what the majority of Electrical Contractors want said.
