A secretive organization must always be secretive otherwise its not. Ethnics are ok as long as they are the right one's,ta
It is legitimate and necessary for democratic States including the UK to have some intelligence agency or capacity so long as they are under political control and operate within a proper legal framework.
“IT IS ALSO WIDELY ACCEPTED THAT BRITISH INTELLIGENCE AGENCIES WERE RESPONSIBLE FOR MASTERMINDING THE MURDER OF IRISH CIVILIANS IN THE DUBLIN AND MONAGHAN BOMBINGS.”
This is widely claimed by claimed by republicans not necessarily widely believed. The Baron Report did not so find. It is in fact widely accepted that the UDA or offshoots of it were responsible. Indignation at the Dublin and Mongahan bombings from Republicans sits ill with outright support or at least ambivalence for similar car bombings with similar carnage resulting by republicans. For example the bombings in Belfast, Claudy, Birmingham and London etc - so long as they were planted by Republicans. If the IRA had not started this savagery there would probably not have been bombs in Dublin or Monaghan in the first place.
Sceptic,
I suggest you view a programme that I recently saw on TG4 on the death of a young innocent Irish woman named Margaret Perry (ar dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam), who was found murdered in a Sligo wood - murdered by British tools! The circumstances that led to her death might just make you realise the abominable, morally bankrupt nature of those working for the British intelligence agencies.
The programme gives an accurate portrayal of the dirty and evil tactics used by British intelligence agencies and all who engage at whatever level in its secretive reprehensible world. “Brathadóirí can be viewed on: TG4 (Web TV) www.tg4/tv - go to Faisnéis - Cartlann and to programme entitled “Brathadóirí” transmitted on 24/11/08.
I will leave with some salutary advice to all those who are contemplating going over to the dark side and working for the myriad of British Intelligence agencies currently operating in Ireland against Ireland:
Quote from Jane Winter of the British Irish Rights Watch (TG4, clár: "Brathadóirí 24/11/08):
“We have been contacted by a number of former informers and agents, who were promised that if anything happened to them, they would be immediately removed from danger; that they and their families would be protected; that they would be given a new identity, they would be given somewhere to live, that they would be given either a job or money to live on, and they would be safe for the rest of their life and - that promise has been broken over and over again.”

No Justice for Margaret Perry (RIP) as RUC Special Branch Get Away Scot-Free yet again
I am absolutely disgusted to learn only recently that subsequent to a investigative report by former Police Ombudsman, Nuala Ó Loan, that absolutely no charges whatsoever will be brought against the RUC Special Branch who stood idly by whilst an innocent young Irish woman lost her life at the hands of 3 of its informers (a young woman who committed no crime at all!). What is the fucking point of investigating this if no charges will be brought against the RUC Special Branch? I thought the whole point of having a Police Ombudsman was to investigate crimes committed by the RUC and to bring people to account who had knowledge of heinous crimes, and put them before the Courts, and if justice prevails then into prison cells.
Brief Summary of Case
Margaret Perry (RIP) was an innocent Irish woman whose only misfortune was to have chosen, Gregory Burns (“RUC Special Branch Informer” - unbeknownst to her) as a boyfriend. Margaret Perry found out information that could jeopardise and expose Gregory Burns and his cronies diabolical ‘careers’ as RUC informers. So, the ‘lovely lads’ that they were, decided to have Margaret Perry murdered, and this was reported (in advance of the crime) to the RUC Special Branch, who obviously approved or did not give a damn. Margaret Perry’s body was found buried in a forest in Mullaghmore, Co. Sligo in June 1992, where an investigation was undertaken by An Garda Síochána - with no assistance whatsoever from the RUC - who knew full well who murdered her!
Given the lack of assistance that An Garda Síochána received from the RUC in the past, I am shocked and astounded to see the good relations there is these days between An Garda Síochána and the RUC/PSNI, knowing as it does full well that many within the RUC/PSNI today committed diabolical crimes in the past and got away ‘scot-free’ with doing so. I find it appalling that An Garda Síochána should take advantage of events such as the recent ‘Special Olympics launch’ in Limerick, and use it as a platform to display their grotesque good relations with such a despicable foreign police force on our island - the RUC/PSNI who aided and abetted in the murder of innocent Irish people like Margaret Perry. There will never be peace or justice on this island whilst we have a British military police force murdering Irish people on our island, and complete lúdramáns in An Garda Síochána applauding the RUC/PSNI's record and entering them into pageants.
In conclusion, what is the point of having a 6 counties Police Ombudsman who only produces extensive investigative reports condemning the RUC Special Branch’s actions, but yet does nothing at all about it! Sure, that is no better than what the RUC Special Branch did in this case!
My heartfelt sympathy to Margaret Perry’s family on the loss of their beautiful young daughter.
