Day of activities

category dublin | environment | news report author Monday March 16, 2009 17:49author by SEED Report this post to the editors

SEED had a day out on Sunday. The beautiful weather shone on us as we started the community garden in Swords.
the beginning...
the beginning...

We started the garden at about 12.00. We picked a nice spot in the middle of a field in Swords. The field has been unused for over 10 years. The plot is close to a housing estate and we hope it becomes a strong community project for all, young and old. The people who came out were enthusiastic and it didn't take long to dig out the plot. We planted two little bean plants to start it off.

After a while, we headed back to River Valley to the community centre to watch some documentaries. We watched two docs and in between them we had a soup kitchen with fresh vege soup! After the documentaries we had a short meeting with a few new faces.

All in all it was a fun and productive day, not to mention SEEDs first full day of activities. This is just the beginning. Lots more to come....
