Trade Justice and Sustainable Development Workshop

category waterford | eu | event notice author Friday May 01, 2009 16:25author by Comhlámh - Comhlámh Report this post to the editors

Lobby your MEP Candidates to put trade justice for the Global South on their political agenda in the next European Parliament

Do you ever ask yourself why the Global South doesn’t get richer in spite of the aid given?

Are you worried about the impact of the financial crisis on developing countries, and concerned about global justice and inequality?

If you’d like to do something about it but just don’t know how, then this workshop is definitely for you!!

Venue: Immigrant Support Unit, Mount Sion, Barrack Street, Waterford
Date: Wednesday, May 6th 2009 – 7.00 - 9.30pm
Contact: Fleachta - email fleachta@comhlamh.org, or call 01 4783490
Cost: Free – Just your Time!

Take part in our workshop, a practical training which will prepare you take an active part in an EU wide campaign to get constituents talking to their MEP candidates.

The workshop will particularly focus on the unfair trade deals the EU is trying to negotiate with developing countries and on EU trade policy. (Please don’t be put off by the trade bit – it’s not as complicated as you think!)

The workshop will be participatory and interactive, and supported by a beautiful lobby pack with lots more detail and information on the issues involved.

We all need to ensure our EU representatives work to bring about an EU which puts sustainable development and global justice at the heart of all of its policies.

Visit http://www.comhlamh.org/talk-to-your-mep-about-trade-ju....html for more information. Please email Fleachta@comhlamh.org to book your place in the workshop.
