On the 18th of May Dublin Shell to Sea is going to escalate its campaign against Shell’s command centre – Corrib house on Leeson Street with another day of action starting at 7.30 am sharp. This attempt to shut down Shell’s HQ, like our last day of action (http://www.indymedia.ie/article/82200), is being called to highlight the incredible theft of our natural resources that totals 51 billion euros in the Corrib field alone. This is only possible with your help; we encourage everyone to come along. read full story / add a comment

My family have shared a back fence with the Enoggera Army Barracks since the late 1950's. My older brother Sean and I were raised during the long years of the Vietnam War next to this second largest military base in Australia. My parents are still there, the base is still there, the rifle range is audible form our home, the lowflying military choppers occasionally pass over our house and young men and women in uniform fill the aisles of the local Brookside Shopping Centre. Sean and I have spent 30 years in anti-war activism that has taken us to resistance actions, court secenes and prison from New York, London, Texas, Roxby, Jabiluka, Nurrunga, Cunungra, Carbahla, Amberley, Pine Gap, Nevada Nuclear Test Site to Dublin's Four Courts but never before had we been drawn to the gates of nearby Enoggera. read full story / add a comment

They will meet with Willie this Thursday 10th May at 12.00 outside St Nicholas’s Church and all are welcome to attend. The Goldman prize is internationally renowned. It is the equivalent of a Nobel Prize for the environment. Willie was awarded the €93,000 prize in a ceremony in San Francisco two weeks ago. During his US trip he had the opportunity to put his case to leading US political figures. It was awarded in recognition of the Shell to Sea Campaign, which opposes the controversial ‘Corrib Gas’ project in Erris Co. Mayo. read full story / add a comment
