Anti Bin Tax Protest in Dublin (Pics) The people protesting here today, have come together to demonstrate their opposition to the Bin Charges and draw attention to the Dublin Wide Campaign of opposition to this unjust Double Tax. The Bin charges are nothing more than a confidence trick. The government has cynically used peoples genuine environmental concerns, and the need for recycling, as an excuse to squeeze more money out of ordinary people. The money you pay in taxes is supposed to provide for essential services - so why should you pay again. |

Jump To Comment: 2 1The above pictures are from the white line picket on Friday night (28th November) organised by Ballybough and Clonliffe Area Against the Bin Tax. We did a white line picket at the junction of Ballybough and Clonliffe Roads. Activists held placards while others leafleted each car which stopped at the traffic lights. Posters asking 'Beep Against the Bin Tax' drew a noisy response and most drivers and pedestrians were supportive and took leaflets. A few people from other areas asked to get in touch with the campaign to form their own groups. The protest lasted for about one and a half hours.
nice shot, me think
