The rise and fall of the Stickies - A Provo review of The Lost Revolution: The Story of the Official IRA and the Workers’ Party, by Brian Hanley and Scott Millar The historical parallels are all there yet this Provo historian fails to see them. Both the Provo and Stick 'revolutions' failed. As per Spinoza's imploration, neither laugh nor weep when you read this review. The task for today is to understand and learn from how and why etc. both were corrupted. |

The author of this piece obviously possesses a big blind spot with regard to the irony of his own writing and political position today.
The Stickies and the Provos and the UDA and UFA and the myriad of other combinationa of letters have passed into history.
The dying corpse someties spits out as a last gasp ..... "We are RIRA".
And other smelly putrefications on the loyalist side.
Good riddance.
.
There has been no fall for the stickies. Adams running a Brit administration in occupied Ireland . Gilmore looking to serve in a future Free State administration in the 26 counties . The stickies won the war .
Sinn Fein from the Stickies to the Provos have failed to capture the Irish people in the twenty-six counties because murder of Irish people in the Northern Ireland and down here.
