Clare people got an interesting insight into two important topics this weekend following public meetings in Ennis and Shannon. Anti-War activists show their support for Mary Kelly who is shortly facing re-trial on charges resulting from her disarming of an American Warplane en-route to Iraq. She did nothing more than her civic duty under the terms of the Nurenberg war crimes tribunal that states and protect the Irish constitution. "Individuals have the duty to violate domestic laws to prevent crimes against the peace and humanity from occuring" If convicted, she faces up to ten years in Jail. read full story / add a comment

as two more combat divisions are requested for Iraq and 25,000 troops in Iraq are told to stay an extra 90 days, Shannon airports tills are ringing with blood money from Bush's war machine. Of course, there is no mention of the Iraqi dead and wounded, and any dead Americans fly home from Ramstein to Dover. Shannon only handles the live troops.
